"Spectacularly unprofessional. I'm not sure what I was thinking, trying to use this branch after reading the other reviews. But here we are. Lots of following up, chasing and unnecessary hurdles. Edit to address the comment: i think it's illuminating that the follow up is to the marketing department. The issues at this branch seem systemic. I guess I expected 2-star service and got 1-star. This branch is a good option if you can do the return yourself but instead you want to pay a corporation to submit them. Definitely a market for it! Just go in with low expectations."

"After my visit it's hard for me to say I had a positive tax experience. Now this is not review on the amount of money my estimate is but rather the level of service that was provided. So for some background my wife and I decided to go see a tax agent for once as we performed our own tax returns via the MyGov App for years. The idea was to maximize our tax returns we would see a tax agent. Now maybe I had assumed incorrectly that when you go submit your tax return with a tax professional that you would have someone there who can guide you through the tax process, and educate you on what you can and can't claim. Essentially my assumption was that they would essentially provide professional advice. Now once I have gone through the process I can definitely suggest anyone who is seeking to do their tax return with H&R block just use the free MyGov declaration option because to be honest that's what I felt like spending an hour at H&R Block Moonee Ponds. Basically we were rushed through a series of questions that just seem to match what you would see in MyGov and no real explanations or information to identify areas you could potentially save on money or at least understand the process a bit better. It genuinely felt like we paid $300+ for someone to fill in the MyGov form for us. At this stage I would probably be more upset if the cost of a tax agent wasn't claimable next year. I did submit this as feedback and the manager there told me that they only asked the questions they thought were related to our roles and we could come in and get a free 30 mins to review but we would need to tell them what all the deductions we want to claim which again is the reason why we went there in the first place. The idea was that a professional would be able to guide us through the tax process. Overall I think it took less than hour for the staff there to go through my wife's and my details and really just made me feel I got nothing for it. In the future I will go back to filling in my own tax returns via MyGov, or consider maybe another tax professional."

"Had an appointment with one of the accountants at the Moonee Ponds office. The appointment itself went smoothly and I felt I'd been asked the right questions for work related expenses, along with a clear indication on what I can deduct. Upon sending all required information , tax receipts etc. I have since heard back from them. Within this time I have called 5~ times, sent emails all requesting to speak to Brett however I have not had any success, each time with the receptionist saying that they will pass on the message. Very poor customer service as my tax return should have been lodged by now."

"My experience with HR block was incredibly disappointing. The office manager did my tax return, which went seemingly well; I was told the return would be lodged the following morning and that I could expect to see my return in my account in 2 weeks. I paid the fee and left it at that. Over two weeks passed and nothing came through, so I rang the office. I was told I would be rung back within certain time-frames which did not happen. This continued for over a week. I then found out that the return had not been lodged at all. Upon trying to rectify the issue, I was treated poorly and told that the office was 'too busy' to handle the issue. Unfortunately it took me calling the head office for my return to be lodged (once the head office was involved, it was done within 24 hours). I would not recommend H&R Block Moonee Ponds to anyone due to their unreliability and unprofessional manner in which they treat their customers."
