"Was enroute from Sydney to Mudgee when my GP called and said I needed urgent ECG and bloods. Lithgow was nearest hospital so my GP rang them to inform I was on the way. Staff, despite being busy, were prepared for me, attended me with great care and expediency. Mandi was very kind, efficient and caring. Her infection control processes were excellent. Far better than our Sydney hospitals for care and efficiency, with far less funding. I felt very safe. Thank you Lithgow Hospital ED"
"Dr brown delivered my baby via c section and did an amazing job. I would give 5 stars, but unfortunately dr brown was the only person that respected my wishes. I requested that one female do my catheter, but yet 5 people stood at the end of the theatre bed staring at my privates while 1 person put the catheter in. (Someone training did it so it took 15 minutes and yes the rest was staring!) I feel that was extremely degrading and humiliating! I know it's a job and they meant nothing by it but I would've preferred no catheter if I knew this. It was also meant to be a midwife that did the catheter but that didn't happen... The lady that supported me while getting the spinal was absolutely amazing and so was the lady that done the spinal. Even the ones that did and stared while the catheter was done was nice, the only issue was that they didn't respect my wishes and made me feel so embarrassed to the point I kept staring at my partner expecting him to say something for me, which he didn't... it's done now and I have a healthy baby and thats all that matters, next time I'll just be more precise with what I want."
"honestly the rudest staff and nurses! come in twice! second time could barely breath and was near vomiting. the nurse and dr. didn't give a fly hoot. i felt extremely uncomfortable. and was told by the dr. to stop crying it's not that bad. i'm a young mum who suffers a lot of anxiety and depression i was scared. do better. understand it might have been a long day but i needed help!"
"I really didn't want to write this review as I would like to keep Lithgow Public Day Surgery as well as their imaging department a secret so they are not overwhelmed!! Selfish. Had public cataract surgery a month ago after a 12 month wait - the surgeon and theatre team were faultless. Extremely capable and caring. The admin staff were friendly and efficient. The nursing staff post op were brilliant and extremely attentive and caring. Just the most incredible team!! A couple of weeks later had to have an MRI to check for issues - excellent new equipment and really great staff. It was a slight emergency and the team worked hard to fit me in the next day by juggling appointments. Who could ask for better care? An outstanding hospital and staff - hopefully with improved funding more hospitals can be like Lithgow. Second cataract surgery now on the waiting list...."
"Came into emergency in pain and very sick. I was seen almost instantly by a lovely nurse and taken into care. The nurses, doctors, radiologists, orderlies and support staff were all so wonderful. I felt safe and was treated with dignity and respect. Fab work."
