At Universal Combat Academy, we value both traditional martial arts principles and cutting-edge techniques. Our mission is to develop individuals both physically and mentally, fostering strong-willed and confident individuals through open-minded, reality-based training. We believe in treating each student as an individual and encourage them to explore their own unique style while mastering the fundamentals.
Unlike traditional martial arts schools that teach standardized techniques, we embrace modern training methods to accelerate the learning process. While you will still gain essential qualities such as self-defense, confidence, respect, fitness, flexibility, and strength, our academy combines the latest training methodologies for a more efficient and dynamic experience.
Our head instructor, Simon Farnsworth, has an impressive 28 years of training experience, with 16 years as a black belt. He recently achieved the rank of 4th degree black belt at a Will-Machado gathering in September 2022, placing him among an elite group of BJJ instructors.
Located in the beautiful suburb of Castle Hill, just 30.1 kilometers northwest of Sydney's GPO, our academy offers a state-of-the-art training facility. "Have been training here for over 5 years now and it is easily the best BJJ gym in the hills. Classes are friendly, a good size, and cover a great range of techniques applicable to self defence, competition, and gi and no gi. Simon Farnsworth, a third degree Black belt, has been teaching BJJ for over a decade. The club has a range of skilled practitioners to suit any level, and classes always have a mix of many beginners (white belts), blue, purple, and brown belts, and 4 other black belts.
