Country Road - Macquarie Waterloo Road, North Ryde, New South Wales 2113

"Ahh such a shame. Such a well known beautiful store but terrible employees working within. I came to country road to buy myself a new pair of jeans and all employees, except one (young employee Daniela), were unwelcoming and unfriendly. I said hello to the employee folding clothes at the front of the store and she whispered hello back and looked at me up and down and the others didn’t say a thing, they were too busy talking amongst themselves. Young employe Daniela was the only one that made conversation upon checkout and made the experience worth it. I hope she finds herself in a better country road store soon to come. As for the rest of the employees, you should be ashamed with your customer service. I felt judged and unwelcomed."

"Shoulder length blonde haired woman at 4:45pm 17/06, awful service, condescending attitude, blatant racism towards my partner (“Indian names” (my partner isn’t Indian fyi)). We went in to pick up clothes and left in disappointment and shock, we urge CR to reconsider it’s hiring process to assure a similar experience doesn’t happen ever again."

"Motivated by a Spend and Save offer, I purchased $600 worth of country road fashion and homewares online. When exchanging an item, staff brought to my attention that I hadn’t actually received the discount at checkout. The manager, Allen, credited all my items and rescanned them, honouring the offer. I purchased more items and ended up receiving money back. Happy Customer."

"Rude customer service (lady staff with short red hair dye hair working at 4.30pm on Saturday 11th June) there was customers in the shop and not once did she approach and ask if anyone needed assistance. I finally approached her for help,to find a smaller size on a sale item but I said to her I only want this specific colour and told her I was happy to pay full price for the item in my size and this colour only. She didn't answer my question properly, and in a condenscending tone this colour was on sale and that the other colours are at the front of the store and is at full price, she emphasised the full price part. Rude staff who can't even listen to the question and very unhappy facial reaction when you ask them for customer service which is what they are paid to do there. Making it feel like you're an inconvenient to them. Almost bipolar opposite to other amazing CR stores. Unfortunately, this one gives CR a bad reputation. Other poorly rated Google reviews on here indicate this is a common occurrence at this store."

"Arrogant, condescending and outright rude I returned a bag that I had received as a gift to the store today, as I only used it once and washed it gently with cold water after it got a bit dirty, only to see the whole country road logo come off. I was initially received well and was told the manager needs to process my request. The manager then started talking in such a rude manner and kept cutting me off he barely let me finish one sentence. His first reaction was that he had a look inside the bag and told me the label says you can’t wash it. I said that was unacceptable for a $55 bag that’s made of light colored canvas material and guaranteed to get dirty and the logo should not come off with some cold water! (I have had $2 tote bags that i have washed multiple times without any trouble. Also another country road bag i own -and was wearing to the store today!- has been machine washed multiple times with no issues; I can’t remember the last time logos and stickers came off even the cheapest clothes and bags!) But instead of apologizing for the low quality product they have sold to their customers with such a high price tag, and respectfully finding a solution he giggled and said you do understand that I legally DON’T HAVE TO do anything!!!!!!! At one point he told me “do you understand that you shouldn’t have washed this bag?”. To which I responded “do you understand how ridiculous it is that a $60 cotton bag should not touch water?”. I mean, who would talk to you like that anyway???? So much for a so called manager. I then had to spend 15 minutes standing there while they processed an exchange for me with another more expensive bag, and of course the not so lovely manager reminded me that I should not wash it again in the least friendly tone. Absolutely shameful customer service. Country Road should be ashamed of themselves, both for ripping customers off for such poor quality materials and for their horrible staff with too much ego and zero problem solving or customer facing skills. And guess what Country Road, if you feel like you “don’t have to” take responsibility for your poor quality materials, then customers also DON’T HAVE TO come back to spend money in your stores."
