The Auchmuty Library, situated on the Western side of the Callaghan campus near the Shortland Union Building, serves as the campus hub for all your study needs. Our vibrant and engaging spaces provide the perfect environment to meet, read, study, and learn. Whether you prefer silent focused study or collaborative group work, Auchmuty Library offers various study zones to cater to your preferences. Our bookable group study rooms are equipped with zoom screens for video calls and screen-sharing, and our individual study pods are perfect for video calls and lecture participation. Additionally, we have film and podcast studios available for those who need to film videos on a green screen or record audio presentations.

If you're located at the Newcastle City campus, our Library at NUspace on Level 1 is the place to go. It houses a dynamic collection of high-demand and core items to support the needs of both staff and students.

For those studying at the Central Coast campus, the Ourimbah Library is your go-to resource. As a hub for all your study needs, this library provides vibrant spaces and engaging places to meet, read, study, and learn. Being a multi-sector library, it grants access to a variety of resources from both the University of Newcastle and TAFE NSW. Similar to Auchmuty Library, Ourimbah Library also offers study zones for silent focused study and collaborative group work, with bookable group study rooms equipped with Zoom screens for video calls and screen-sharing.

If you're based at or on clinical placement with the Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD), the Gosford Hospital Library in the Central Coast Clinical School and Research Institute (CCCSRI) at the Gosford Campus is available for University of Newcastle staff and students. This library specializes in medical, nursing, and health resources and is open Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 5.00pm.

For those studying at the Sydney Campus, our Library at Sydney provides a collection of high-demand and core items to support your needs.

To return books, you can use the returns chutes located either immediately outside the library on level 1 or on the building's exterior in the courtyard off Hunter Street, depending on the library location.

Lastly, the University of Newcastle acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands within our footprint areas, including the Awabakal, Darkinjung, Biripai, Worimi, Wonnarua, and Eora Nations. We also pay respect to the wisdom of our Elders past and present.
