Young Actors Assembly - Alexandria 85 O'Riordan Street, Alexandria, New South Wales 2015
About the Business
Welcome to Young Actors Assembly - Alexandria! Located on O'Riordan Street, our institution is a point of interest and a university dedicated to inspiring and empowering the next generation of creative leaders in Australia.
At YAA, we offer a range of programs in stage acting, screen acting, and filmmaking that have been proven to create results. We take pride in the achievements of our YAA graduates, many of whom have successfully pursued professional careers in the film, theatre, and television industries. As the Australian film industry continues to grow, we are committed to building a legacy for future generations of talented actors and filmmakers.
Whether your dream is to shine on stage or to create the next great film or TV show, YAA is here to help you turn that dream into a reality. Our institution provides opportunities that challenge and motivate our students within a supportive yet challenging environment. We promote truth in acting and encourage our students to gain a deeper understanding of themselves and the world around them. Our unique approach to acting has earned recognition, with one of our students receiving a scholarship for acting excellence at Queensland University Technology (QUT) for a 3-year BA Acting program.
What sets YAA apart from other acting studios is our inclusive and celebratory atmosphere. We believe in celebrating each other's success and fostering a sense of community among our students. Our founder, David, teaches a specific technique that empowers actors to make choices in the moment, leading to breakthroughs in auditions and ultimately landing roles. One of our students was even nominated for 'Best New Talent' at both the Logie Awards and the AACTA Awards in 2019, and is currently starring in 'The Commons' as part of the Stan Original series.
YAA not only focuses on honing acting skills but also on personal growth and development. Our students learn discipline and bravery, both within the walls of our studio and in their own lives. We emphasize the importance of deeply listening, which has a profound impact on communication with others, in castings, and in professional settings. Honesty is at the core of our acting process, and thanks to YAA, our students can be completely honest with themselves and believe that anything is possible. One of our students has been accepted into AFTRS for a Bachelor of Arts in Screen: Production in 2021.
As an institution, we also recognize and acknowledge the original storytellers of Australia, the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We pay tribute to them as the nation's first inhabitants and the traditional custodians of the lands where we live, learn, and work.
Join us at Young Actors Assembly - Alexandria and embark on a transformative journey towards realizing your acting and filmmaking dreams. Together, let's create a vibrant and thriving future for the Australian creative industry.

Reviews
"My daughter participated in a holiday acting program with David and could not stop raving about how great it was for days! It reinforced her love of acting in a fun environment. She learnt so much and I will enrol her in another in a heartbeat!"
"A phenomenal experience year round. From term 1 through term 4 each experience made, lesson learnt, and technique taught is organised and catered towards providing the best acting experience for both screen work and crew work behind the screen. The teachers are always phenomenal, and David and Naomi put their heart, soul, time, effort, and love into every second of Young Actors Assembly and it shows. My past 5 years would not have been filled with as much kindness and care as they were if I was not spending it at Young Actors Assembly, and what I learnt through those years will forever assist with my aspiration of pursuing a career in the acting industry."
"YAA has been an absolutely unique and amazing experience-A great and creative group of kids and teachers….. lots of fun experiences and an amazing end of year celebration of talent with endless opportunities…. I highly recommend YAA to any young aspiring actors or filmmakers."
