About Young Actors Assembly - Surry Hills
Welcome to Young Actors Assembly - Surry Hills, located at 259 Riley Street in the vibrant city of Surry Hills, Australia. As an establishment, point of interest, and university, we are dedicated to inspiring and empowering the next generation of creative leaders.
At YAA, we offer a range of programs in stage acting, screen acting, and filmmaking that are designed to create real results. We take immense pride in the achievements of our YAA graduates, many of whom have gone on to successful careers in the film, theatre, and television industries, both within Australia and beyond. As the Australian film industry continues to grow, we are committed to building a lasting legacy for future generations.
Whether your dream is to step onto the stage or to create the next great film or TV show, we are here to help you turn that dream into a reality. Our supportive yet challenging environment provides opportunities that will challenge and motivate you to improve. YAA is a place that promotes truth and allows you to gain a deeper understanding of yourself and other aspects of your life. Our students often share that they are learning to approach acting in a whole new way, thanks to the guidance and teachings at YAA.
Our success stories speak for themselves. One of our students received a 'scholarship for acting excellence' at Queensland University Technology (QUT) for their outstanding performance in our program. Another student was nominated for 'Best New Talent' at both the Logie Awards and the AACTA Awards and is currently starring in 'The Commons' via Stan Original. These achievements are a testament to the effectiveness of our training and the opportunities we provide.
The YAA experience goes beyond acting techniques. We believe in discipline, bravery, and deep listening. Our students are taught to communicate with honesty and integrity, not only within the walls of the studio but also in their personal and professional lives. This approach has proven to be transformative, as one of our students was accepted into the prestigious AFTRS Bachelor of Arts Screen: Production program for 2021.
As an institution, we also want to acknowledge and pay respect to the original storytellers of this land, the Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. They are the nation's first inhabitants and the traditional custodians of the lands where we live, learn, and work. We are committed to honoring their culture and heritage.
If you are ready to embark on a journey of self-discovery, artistic growth, and professional development, Young Actors Assembly - Surry Hills is the place for you. Join us and let us help you unlock your full creative potential.
