"EDIT based on the response below: Thanks Impala for the reply below and for the chance to provide an update now that the job is finished. 1. Yes you are correct that those photos were unfinished. I posted that review out of frustration when we were 8 weeks in to the job and still living out of our suitcases without any end in sight or communication from Impala. We had been told we could move back in by our project manager, despite there being live cables pulled out of the walls and our island bench being on a massive slant and the job being incomplete. 2. No, Impala did not clean a single thing. It was like they just picked up their tools and left. There was dust absolutely everywhere and our poor bathroom looked like a filthy public toilet at a petrol station. It took my partner, my mother (bless her) and I two full days to clean it ourselves. Whilst we did not expect a full clean following the job, I actually could not believe the state that our house was left in. No one had even swept! Totally unprofessional and not what I expected from a so called "high end" company. 3. Despite several requests, no one ever came to fix the dishwasher cabinetry. It remains wonky to this day as depicted. 4. Whoever did the rendering had splattered it down the wall (non rendered areas) and onto the roof. Dark grey on our light beige paint. It was really really thick in some places and had to be sanded for hours before we could even think about painting. 5. That hole in the beam shown below - we had to fix that ourselves at our own cost. 6. Finally, yes I agree the design was lovely. Which was why we went with Impala on the first place. No complaints whatsoever against the designer but it was all down hill from there. To be honest most of these complaints are probably solely due to our project manager. In closing I am a very reasonable and chilled person - not one of those people who goes around blasting businesses on google review if they keep me waiting on my food but I wish there had been a review like this to warn me before we engaged them. ______________________________________________________________________ Original post: We are very unhappy with Impala. We hired them to design and install a kitchen including removing a wall. We were happy with the design part of the process and then decided to go ahead with the works. We were given a three week estimate to job completion. Now, 8 weeks later we are STILL living out of a suitcase for no reason we can see other than poor project management. Communication is pretty terrible and has been throughout the job. I have asked numerous times for scheduling and updates and barely got an answer. Now, finally our project manager told us that subject to cleaning it should be ready to move in. Photos attached of the job currently. The island bench is on a visible slant into the kitchen due to a decision made without our consent to install benching on VERY uneven flooring (straight after jackhammering tiles, not even swept as far as I can see). Cabinetry is uneven (see top of dishwasher), the cornices on the roof are messy, gyprocking still not finished. Not sure why he is sending cleaners now when the job is nowhere near finished. Even now, communication is poor - I have no idea what the plan is to fix these issues. I have also emailed Impala twice re the defects and the blow out in timing and have never received a response or any explanation. Impala sold us a "high end product" - what a joke. And they tried to make us pay 100% of the cost upfront (except for $500!!) before any works had started (pretty sure this is illegal for jobs over $20k) and kept calling us to chase the remainder of the payment. I highly recommend finding a different kitchen company for your renovation."
