"they could not comprehend that the ADOPTED 1 year baby i brought in was reference number 1 on his medicare card. medicare has not sent us his medicare card but gave us his medicare number + details. i told the staff ALL of this. they kept asking for the medicare reference number of the adopted baby and i kept having to say "he is number 1." -- about ten times. not even joking-- the woman and older gentleman took turns asking, "you should be number 1 on his card, what number is he?" "do you have other children who are older?" "then his parents should be number 1, he should be 2" "does he has siblings? maybe he is number 3?" "show me the card so we know what his reference number"."
