We prioritize student wellbeing and provide a safe learning environment for all our students. By focusing on their wellbeing, we ensure that our students are engaged learners who develop the necessary skills to become active and informed citizens.

One of the unique aspects of Taren Point Public School is our extensive environmental and sustainability focus. We are dedicated to recycling and reducing waste, aiming to achieve zero landfill. Our programs, supported by the school community, offer recycling opportunities such as Return and Earn, as well as recycling options for soft plastics, lids, organics, paper, and cardboard. Our chickens and garden benefit from compost and worm farm byproducts, and we even generate produce for consumption at our school canteen and events. Our rainwater collection tanks also help us minimize watering costs and preserve our natural resources.

In addition to our commitment to sustainability, we also value the benefits of learning a second language. At Taren Point Public School, all students have the opportunity to learn French for one hour per week. We offer a French immersion program and have become a member of the Australian Association of French English Bilingual Schools, a recognition held by only three schools in New South Wales and 15 in Australia. Our French program is supported by the French government and the Canadian Consulate.

To celebrate our French programs, we host an annual French market called La Belle Vie, which attracts over 70 stalls and 4000 plus visitors each year. This event is a fantastic showcase of our school and adds an international vibe to the Sutherland Shire.

At Taren Point Public School, we also value our community's involvement. We encourage our community members to share any old photos of the school with us, as well as join our committee to assist in planning festivities and events. We are always looking for ways to engage with our community and create a memorable experience for everyone.
