About St Bernard's Catholic Primary School
Welcome to St Bernard's Catholic Primary School, located in the heart of Botany, Australia. Our school is a vibrant and close-knit community, dedicated to nurturing each child to become a lifelong learner and a well-rounded, confident, caring, and responsible citizen in the world.
As a Catholic community, we foster a culture of learning where students are encouraged to do their best and strive for excellence. Our school excels academically, but we also place great emphasis on the development of the whole child. We provide a stimulating array of sporting, creative, co-curricular, and leadership opportunities for all students.
St Bernard's Catholic Primary School Botany is a diverse and close-knit community, serving the parish of Botany within the Eastern Region of the Archdiocese of Sydney. Our school was founded in 1855 by the Daughters of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, and their charism, along with the life of St Bernard, inspires our school's vision. We aim to unite our community in faith, inspire our students to achieve, and empower them for life. Each day, we pray for the Sacred Heart of Jesus to be loved everywhere, and we strive to live this out by showing unconditional love to others.
As the principal, I am committed to leading a strong, faith-filled community of students, staff, and parents. We believe that every child and family belongs and is valued in our school. Our dedicated staff focus on getting to know each child and their family, ensuring that the instruction and learning experiences provided are relevant and meaningful for individual growth. We set high expectations for positive behaviors and instill in our students the confidence and capability to make a positive difference in the world.
We place great importance on the involvement of parents in their child's education and in the life of the school and parish. We believe that mutual respect and cooperation between home and school are essential for enhancing learning and creating a supportive environment for our students.
Our school has a rich history dating back to 1885 when it was first established by the Daughters of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart. Since then, we have grown and evolved, relocating to our current site in 1955. The charism of the OLSH Sisters continues to inspire us, and we strive to live out their values of unconditional love, respect, inclusivity, and reaching out to all.
At St Bernard's Catholic Primary School, we celebrate our faith, educate our students in the rich traditions of the Catholic faith, and help them respond to the message of Jesus in their lives. We instill hope in our students, fostering responsibility and resilience to build a brighter future. Our stimulating and rigorous learning experiences inspire every student to achieve excellence. And above all, we learn in love, developing confident, collaborative, lifelong learners who are committed to building a socially just world.
We have a strong and positive relationship with St Bernard's Parish, and our parish priest, Father Augusthy, warmly engages with our students, staff, and parents. We encourage families to participate in the parish and take significant responsibility for the Sacramental programs and involvement in Sunday Eucharist. Our family faith educator supports parents in developing the faith of their children through involvement in parish activities.
We invite you to join our community and experience the holistic education we offer at St Bernard's Catholic Primary School. Our school is part of the Sydney Catholic Schools system, which comprises over 150 low-fee Catholic schools in the Sydney Archdiocese. We are proud to be part of a thriving Catholic community that ignites a love for Christ through excellent teaching and learning, empowering students to reach their full potential.
We acknowledge and pay our respects to the traditional custodians of the land on which our schools and offices now stand.

Reviews of St Bernard's Catholic Primary School
"This school is pretty horrible, teachers only care about their favorites they treat the rest horribly"
"I used to go to this school and from my firsthand experience I can tell you it is truly amazing. The manners of the other kids on the grounds are outstanding and they are all taught to love and share. The teachers there love the school so much that they would never intend on leaving, a few teachers told me that they used to know graduates that were in kindergarten. There is a church next to it that they occupy around once or twice a week and have an extraordinary belief in God. The teachers involve students in their learning by getting them in groups to create plays, stories, slideshows and many other exiting ways Before I graduated we would always go to a class and help out our “buddies” (a newcomer to the school) with their work and tasks. The kids adore us and even if the circumstance of meeting one of them in public I must say it again, their manners are amazing. 5 stars would definitely send my kids here and I suggest you sent yours as well."
"Not a very good school i've heard apparently."
