The Swords Club

Welcome to The Swords Club, the oldest continually operating fencing club in Australia! Established in 1913, our club has a rich history and is located at Crows Nest, Pacific Highway, 365. Operating from the gymnasium at North Sydney Girls High School, we have been the center for State and National training squads, competitions, and camps.

At The Swords Club, we welcome fencers of all abilities, from beginners to advanced. Whether you're just starting out or looking to improve your skills, our club offers classes in foil for beginners of all ages, individual coaching in foil, as well as social fencing. Our experienced instructors are dedicated to helping you develop your fencing techniques and reach your full potential.

Membership fees for 2023 are due by March 31st, 2023. Your membership fee goes towards maintaining the club venue and providing insurance for our members. By becoming a member, you not only gain access to our top-notch facilities but also join a community of passionate fencers.

We provide a variety of training sessions tailored to fencers of different skill levels. From structured classes to open sparring sessions, our club offers a supportive and inclusive environment for fencers to hone their skills and enjoy the sport.

In addition to regular training, we also organize special events and camps. This Easter Holidays, The Swords Club will be hosting a holiday fencing camp for our junior fencers. This camp is ideal for those who have completed their beginner course and have been fencing for a few months. Join us from April 17th to 19th for a fun-filled and intensive fencing experience.

Mark your calendars for our biggest annual event, coming up on December 10th, 2022. This event promises lots of fun and camaraderie for everyone, including fencers, parents, and friends. To participate, please ensure your 2022 membership is up to date and paid.

Calling all young fencers! The Swords Club McEvoy Cup U18's Foil Competition will be held on August 20th, 2022. Open to all members born in 2004 or later, this event is a great opportunity to showcase your skills and compete with fellow fencers. Don't worry about your experience level – all kids are encouraged to participate.

Please note that due to unforeseen circumstances, the 11:00am Beginner class on June 25th, 2022, has been canceled. We apologize for the late notice. However, the 12:00pm and 1:30pm classes will still run as scheduled, led by our dedicated instructor Sami.
