We are thrilled to announce that our students have been selected to represent Rosemeadow Public School at the Summer PSSA Gala Days. These Gala Days provide a fantastic opportunity for our students to enhance their sporting skills and compete against other local schools. The Gala Days will be held on Friday, 10th March (week 7) and 31st March (week 10) 2023. We expect a high level of commitment from our students, including attending coaching sessions during school hours and displaying appropriate behavior at all times.

The venues for the Gala Days include Eschol Park Playing Fields for Tiger Tag (Boys and Girls), Jackson Park in Woodbine for Cricket, Milton Park in Macquarie Fields for Softball, Rosemeadow Playing Fields for T-Ball, and Coronation Park in Minto for Basketball. Please note that these venues are subject to change based on weather conditions and availability.

To cover the expenses of bus travel to and from the venue, uniforms, and PSSA levies, a payment of $16 for Term 1 or $25 for Terms 1 and 4 is required. Regardless of whether students attend one or both days, the full amount must be paid. Unfortunately, no refunds can be given. Please ensure that payment and permission notes are returned to the office in an envelope with your child's name and class by Wednesday, 8th March 2023.

In addition to the Gala Days, our Year 5 and 6 students have the exciting opportunity to attend an end-of-year camp in Term 4. This year, we have made a booking at Aussie Bush Camp in Tea Gardens for 3 days and 2 nights, commencing on Monday, 6th November to Wednesday, 8th November 2023. The camp fee is $370 per student and includes all meals. Transportation to and from the camp, cabin accommodation in groups, and various activities and equipment are also covered. The activities at camp may include canoeing, crate climb, dual flying fox, high ropes, lost mud world, raft building, county fair, commando spotlight, and an afternoon session at the beach and sand dunes. Constant supervision will be provided throughout the camp.

To secure a placement at the camp, please return the permission slip along with a $50 or more deposit. Please note that once the deposit is paid, no refunds will be given. We understand that $370 is a significant amount, but we have arranged installment slips to make it more manageable. The full payment must be made by the end of Term 3, 22nd September 2023. More detailed information about the camp will be sent to parents closer to the event.

As proud supporters of public education, we celebrate Education Week annually to recognize the achievements of our schools, teachers, and students. It is a week-long celebration that showcases the excellence and dedication within our education system.

We also value the input of parents and carers in shaping NSW public education. The Department of Education has shared a draft plan and invites parents and carers to provide valuable feedback.
