University of Newcastle Drive-through Clinic Callaghan, New South Wales 2308
About the Business
Welcome to the University of Newcastle Drive-through Clinic, located in New South Wales, Newcastle City Council, Callaghan. As an establishment focused on health, we are a vital point of interest in the community, especially during these challenging times.
Starting from 13 May 2023, there have been changes to COVID-19 PCR testing in NSW. Most individuals experiencing COVID-19 symptoms such as a runny nose, sore throat, cough, or fever can now opt for a rapid antigen test (RAT). If your RAT results come back positive, it is important to register the result with Service NSW. This will enable you to access medical support and receive guidance on managing COVID-19 safely from the comfort of your own home.
For your convenience, RATs are available free of charge at Service NSW service centres, mobile service centres, and recovery centres. To find the nearest RAT location to you, simply refer to our website. However, if your doctor recommends a COVID-19 PCR test, they will provide you with a pathology referral form for a free test. The referral form will indicate a private pathology provider location where you can undergo the test.
If you are experiencing cold and flu symptoms such as a runny nose, sore throat, cough, or fever, we kindly request that you stay home and get tested. Your health and the health of others in the community are our top priority.
If you are planning to travel internationally, it is important to note that some countries and airlines may require a pre-departure PCR test result during check-in. This is to ensure the safety of all passengers. We advise travelers to check the entry requirements of their destination country as well as their airline's specific requirements.
For international travel clearance purposes, COVID-19 testing is only conducted at private pathology clinics, and charges apply for this service. If you receive a negative test result, you will be provided with a testing clearance certificate, which is necessary for boarding your flight or vessel. Please note that booking in advance may be required for this service.
Lastly, we would like to express our respect and acknowledgement to the people of the traditional countries and language groups of New South Wales. We recognize the wisdom of Elders, both past and present, and pay our respects to all Aboriginal communities today.
At the University of Newcastle Drive-through Clinic, we are committed to providing accessible and reliable COVID-19 testing services to the community. Your health and safety are our utmost priority, and we are here to support you every step of the way.

"Walk-ins accepted. Standing queue then performed on chairs off to the side of the car queue."
"Turned up on my pushbike after riding for half an hour and was told that they were only testing uni students and people in cars and motorbikes...what is the difference between a pushbike and a motorbike in this situation??? Only the kind of inanity that can occur on a uni compass."
"The centre advertised it would be open at 730 am this morning they made cars drive around in circles for 45 minutes then claimed it was over capacity. Later in the day they said it was not operating. It would be nice to provide accurate site information and not to waste people’s time claiming to be open then misleading people who arrive, their efforts this morning were a total disgrace."
