About Chiswick Baths
Welcome to Chiswick Baths, a premier establishment and point of interest located at 19 Bortfield Drive in Chiswick, Australia. Our institution is committed to enhancing the beauty and accessibility of the Parramatta River, and we are proud to be part of the efforts to make it swimmable by 2025, as outlined in our Masterplan.
For all the cycling enthusiasts out there, be sure to check out our interactive map showcasing the cycling paths near the Parramatta River. Whether you prefer a leisurely ride or a challenging route, there is something for everyone to enjoy while taking in the stunning views of the river.
We also want to acknowledge and pay our respects to the Traditional Custodians of the Parramatta River catchment. We recognize the importance of their connection to the land and the river, and we strive to work in harmony with their values and traditions.
Exciting developments are underway in the Parramatta River area. At our recent Full Group Committee meeting, Mark Russell, Senior Environment Manager with Transport for NSW Infrastructure, presented on changes to the construction of the Western Harbour. These changes will contribute to the overall improvement of the river and its surrounding areas.
In addition, we are thrilled to announce that seven new Australian-made ferries, known as the Parramatta Class, will soon be cruising along the Parramatta River. These ferries, designed by Sydney-based naval engineers Incat Crowther, offer a more sustainable and eco-friendly transportation option for Sydneysiders.
To further support our goals, the PRCG has secured $1.8 million in funding from the NSW Government for the delivery of two key Masterplan projects for the Parramatta River catchment. These projects will enhance the riverbank and create a more vibrant and inclusive environment for all to enjoy.
At Chiswick Baths, we are dedicated to creating a thriving and sustainable future for the Parramatta River. Join us in our mission as we work towards a cleaner, more accessible, and vibrant waterway for all to enjoy.
Reviews of Chiswick Baths
"The park is decent enough but the swimming area is pretty gross. Still… jumped in on Australia Day and had a dip and it was a bit of fun. Pretty great looking at boats you’ll never be able to afford."
"Great Place to swim, BBQ and relax"
"Lovely spot for a swim"
"Tidal netted baths in Sydney's Inner West. More suited as a dipping pool than to do laps. Located in a beautiful and secluded part of Sydney in the shadows of Gladesville Bridge."
"For a spare of the moment decision to cool off on a hot evening, it's perfect. Saves having to travel to the eastern beaches at night! It's fenced off so is save for kids to swim here. But to find the place, you'd blink and miss it. Unless you're familiar with the area, use Google Maps to take you there. Plus parking in the area is a bit of a nightmare as most residents park on the streets leaving visitors little available space to do so."
