ST MAROUN’S PRESCHOOL

Welcome to St Maroun’s Preschool, located on Wardell Road in Dulwich Hill, Australia. As a privately owned and operated institution, we are proud to be run by the Maronite Sisters of The Holy Family. Our preschool is a point of interest and a school, providing a child-centred program for children aged 3-5 years.

At St Maroun’s Preschool, we are dedicated to building on each child’s strengths through our holistic approach to education. Our goal is to create a secure and safe environment within a warm and relaxed atmosphere, bridging the gap between home and formal schooling. We believe that children learn best through play, by experiencing, manipulating, exploring, observing, and being involved.

Our aim is to fulfill all of the child’s basic needs, allowing them to be, belong, and become who they want to be. Through this, we are able to connect children with our center, fostering a sense of belonging, being, and becoming.

We believe in enriching children’s learning development by involving them in various exciting experiences. In the past, we have organized events such as a rock pool visit from Australian Wildlife, where children had the opportunity to learn about the importance of caring for our oceans and interact with sea creatures.

We also participated in the Leukemia Foundation’s World’s Greatest Shave, involving children, staff, and parents to raise awareness for this great cause. The children had fun with colored hairspray and chalk to support the event.

Another memorable experience was when we had chicks hatch at the preschool. The children were able to observe the life cycle of a chick and witness their growth over a two-week period.

We also had special visits from the Marrickville fire station and police officers, where children learned about fire safety and the important role these professionals play in our community.

Additionally, we had a visit from David at Wardell Dental, who taught the children about proper oral hygiene and the importance of brushing their teeth. The children discovered that they have 20 teeth and that water is the most important drink for their dental health.
