About University of New England, Parramatta
Welcome to the University of New England, Parramatta! Located on Church Street in the heart of Parramatta, our institution is not only an establishment and point of interest, but also a prestigious university.
While the Australian bush may seem secluded, crime still exists. At UNE Parramatta, we understand the importance of addressing these issues and preparing our students to make a difference in their communities.
Our university takes pride in the rich mythologies of Ancient Greece, which have shaped our cultures for over 3000 years. We believe that understanding these ancient stories is crucial for navigating our 21st Century world.
One of our standout programs is focused on promoting the wellbeing of Ezidi refugees through sport and physical activity. This initiative has not only helped these individuals integrate successfully into regional communities but has also become a beacon of hope.
As Henry David Thoreau once said, stone tools are like fossil thoughts. At UNE Parramatta, we embrace this concept and encourage our students to explore the depths of knowledge and history.
With a history spanning 70 years, UNE Parramatta has been a pioneer in distance education. Whether you choose to study online or at one of our residential colleges, you can trust that you are receiving a quality education from a trusted institution.
Speaking of our residential colleges, they offer a unique experience with their own culture, history, events, and traditions. Starting from just $165 per week, our all-inclusive pricing is more affordable than most capital city accommodations.
When you join UNE Parramatta, you will have the opportunity to connect with globally ranked academics, access scholarships and placement opportunities, and contribute to cutting-edge research. Over 90% of our research ranks at, above, or well above world standards, according to the ERA National Report 2018-19.
Our teaching staff are accomplished professionals who will guide you throughout your educational journey. You will also become part of a supportive community that values your success and encourages you to make a real difference in your community.
We also recognize and respect the Indigenous knowledge systems that are an integral part of Australia's knowledge capital. UNE Parramatta acknowledges and pays respect to the strength, resilience, and capacity of the Aboriginal community, both past and present.
Join us at the University of New England, Parramatta, and embark on a transformative educational experience that celebrates diversity, fosters growth, and prepares you to make a lasting impact in the world.

Reviews of University of New England, Parramatta
"It seems that my earlier extensive review has been deleted. So, UNE is able to moderate the reviews and have negative ones deleted. That ought to cause people concern. Remember the old saying, "all that glitters is not gold"? That applies to this university and in my unfortunate experience, law. They do lure you in with a glossy exterior, but it is behind the veneer that is the problem. Student services is excellent, they respond quickly and are very nice people who genuinely want to help. I recently did get a rather terse message, but I responded in kind because I knew I was leaving. That said, all that benefit from excellent student services is negated by poor academic standards overall. In my opinion, most of the lecturers are good (though there are a few who are most certainly not in my honest opinion, having had unpleasant experiences). Though again, it's what goes on behind the scenes that ultimately determines your grades. As another reviewer stated, the marking [by anonymous markers] makes it a very unpleasant experience (obviously across the university so I'm not just disgruntled). There is also the feral way the numerous forums are not moderated uniformly. But when they feel like giving themselves something to do, they have no objectivity. Some students can bully others with impunity, whilst others are sent warning letters for responding in a polite manner. They clearly have their "favourite" students who can do no wrong. There was a mob of bullies when I started, it was like being back in High School dealing with "mean girls" [and boys]. They rule the roost. It's frightening to think that these are mature adults, not school leavers. Just because you get accepted quickly (the do let almost anyone in apparently without academic credentials through Open University), and have slick TV marketing, don't be fooled. I have formed the opinion that because UNE has a lot of students, many of the units offered in law have the exact same assessment format to make it easier for the academics and markers. That is not helpful to students. They say they need to assess certain ways for accreditation but that is clearly false because other universities don't have to uphold such stringent assessment criteria. I have also formed the impression that UNE Law want to "play with the big boys" at the University of Sydney and UNSW, so is trying to project a harder stance regarding its academic standards. They really do implement the "carrot and stick approach" by offering a few bells and whistles and I got lured back for another unit. UNE will never match the best law schools in the country because their standards are poor by cutting corners at the back end causing students to suffer. I assume that UNE remains prosperous because students just stay there once enrolled since it's easier. Fortunately, I had the motivation to get out once and for all before my transcript was worthless with a concomitant huge HECS debt. It will cost me more money to finish my degree at a superior university that doesn't have poor marking standards, but which cares about its students' learning and getting the absolute best out of them, which ought to be the minimum obligation. But self-interest rules here. UNE Law School seems to want to ruin students' transcripts, demoralise them, waste their lives and money and just lure more unsuspecting students through the door. Inexplicably, when I first started, whilst not perfect, it was a better university. Complacency or a misguided deliberate strategy to not be seen as soft? In the long run it will be worth every dollar of additional HECS I have incurred at another university. The difference is like night and day, no drama, bullying and proper, consistent marking standards. At least I won't be throwing money away. It pays to look at the long picture. One star is for the students services and the learning interface (which is easy to navigate). I am tempted to say more, but being a good law student, better than UNE's transcript shows, I don't want to get sued for defamation."
"The worst university in Australia, I really regret to go to this uni, totally waste my time and money. The school team will never be consistant while marking your assignments as they will never follow the criteria but only their preferrence. And remember, don't make any complaints or appeals, as they will mark you down on the list and punish you for giving you low scores of all the rest subjects."
"This university misleads and deceives in what it can deliver to you. after graduating with approx $50,000.00 in HECS debt in 2011 for a double degrees in Economics and Law I have since spent two-thirds of that time unemployed. This university had ruined my life. This HECS debt has ballooned to over $60,000.00. When I complained to the university they ignored me and just tried to lure me into studying more pointless courses. I can guarantee that I am not the only person who this university has ripped off."
"It is impossible to get in contact with anyone from UNE for any customer support. Waited on the phone for over 40 minutes on 3 seperate occasions, no answer. Sent emails to ASKUNE, no reply. Messaged on Facebook, was able to exchange two messages but then no reply and no resolution. Open Universities Australia has also reached out to UNE on two occasions about the same matter and even they also received no reply. First attempt to contact UNE was over 3 weeks ago and have still been unable to speak with anyone or resolve the issue. One of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had. I understand the University possibly being busy but not being able to reach anyone via any outlet over 3 weeks is deplorable."
"Before joining the UNE, I expressed I needed to do subjects which was going to get me in a position in doing my CPA studies afterwards. I received guidance and was advised what subjects to do. Now that I have completed and spent a great deal of money in studies, I applied for my CPA but was told I need to go back and get a Uni Degree. Now I am faced with having to go through 21 subjects which will take me over 3.5 years to complete through UWS if im lucky. Word of advise, make sure you are set on the right path in your studies, take note of whom you had your discussions with or better yet get this in a letter for your future security."
