About St Joseph the Worker Catholic Primary School
Welcome to St Joseph the Worker Catholic Primary School! Located in Auburn on New Street, our school is a vibrant and inclusive institution that focuses on providing each child with a unique and enriching educational experience.
At St Joseph the Worker Catholic Primary School Auburn South, we believe in the potential of every child. Our welcoming and caring environment, coupled with our resource-rich facilities, create the perfect setting for students to thrive. We have a team of experienced and specialized teachers who are dedicated to supporting the academic needs of each child, fostering their growth as reflective and self-motivated learners.
What sets us apart from other schools is our strong sense of community. We celebrate and embrace cultural differences, creating a small yet diverse community where children and parents feel excited to belong. We believe that a good relationship between the school, child, and family is crucial to a successful educational journey.
Our school maintains a close relationship with our Parish, Trinity Catholic College, and the wider community. This ensures that our students belong to a dynamic and supportive network. Additionally, our dedicated team of educators utilizes contemporary educational practices to challenge students to become reflective, self-motivated risk-takers. We provide a range of opportunities to nurture every child's strengths and talents.
The values of St Joseph the Worker and Mary Aikenhead underpin our school's ethos. We follow in their footsteps to share the love, tenderness, and concern of Christ with all whom we meet, seeing Christ in everyone. Our school motto, 'Creating a difference,' reflects the inspiration of those who helped found and build our institution.
We are proud to have St Joseph the Worker as our Patron. Through his hard work as a carpenter, he honored God and provided for the material needs of Mary and Jesus. He serves as an exemplary figure of service and love.
To experience our welcoming community spirit, supportive classroom environments, and welcoming grounds, we invite you to visit us. We are currently open for enrolments and look forward to giving you a tour. Please contact our school office to arrange a visit.
Don't just take our word for it - hear it from our students. Winnie, a student at our school, attests to the friendly and welcoming atmosphere. She shares that the teachers encourage students to try new things and learn from their mistakes. Despite being a small school, we provide an extraordinary education.
St Joseph the Worker Catholic Primary School Auburn South was founded in January 1962. Our humble beginnings started with lay principal Mrs. McGhee and infant classes held in what is now our school hall. From 1964 to 1987, we were blessed to have the Sisters of Charity lead our school. We continue to uphold their charism of sharing Christ's love with all.
Our strong connection with the parish of St Peter Chanel - St Joseph enhances our school's faith community. Fr. Thomas Kurunthanam, our parish priest, joins us each Tuesday to celebrate Mass. The Sacramental program, led by the parish sacramental team, receives strong support from our school staff.
We also have a close connection with Fr. Sam Wehbe, the parish priest of St Raymond's Maronite Parish. He regularly visits our school, and we welcome families from this parish.

"St Joseph the Worker Primary is an amazing school with a wonderful community feel. The staff are amazing and go the extra mile for the kids and are dedicated in bringing out the best in our children. SJTW has been selected as a Newman selective school which allows for so many additional opportunities for the children. I am so happy to have my kids attend this school and become active learners. The smiles on their face each day assures me that I made the best choice in sending them to this school."
