My name is Natalie Barney, and I am a French jewellery designer and gem whisperer who now calls Sydney home. From a young age, I have been captivated by gemstones, seeing them as true expressions of Mother Earth. They not only connect us to the natural world but also hold innate wisdom for those who choose to connect with them.

At Natalie Barney Jewellery Design, we believe in working with gems and through them. It is a blessing to channel our conscious energy into helping these gems and metals fulfill their unique purpose and bring a specific gift to another soul.

Through my exploration of gemmology, I have discovered the mesmerizing world of gems like tourmaline, zircon, and spinel. I have also been amazed by the vibrant spectrum of colors that garnet can be found in. The revelation that good quality almandine garnet boasts a stunning deep and vivid red, rivaling that of ruby and spinel, was truly beautiful. Who knew garnets could be orange, green, reddish purple, and even yellow?

One of our collections, Mauresque, was inspired by my lifelong fascination with Moorish art and architecture. This passion was ignited during my childhood when I watched the film 'El Cid,' which depicted the Christian warlords fighting the Moors in medieval Spain. The sense of familiarity I felt as a child was amplified when I visited the Alhambra Palace in Grenada years later. The overwhelming emotions I experienced there led to the creation of this collection.

At Natalie Barney Jewellery Design, we want to challenge the notion that beautiful jewels are only for a select few. We have had too many customers express feelings of unworthiness, believing that our pieces are too expensive or luxurious for them. We want to remind you that sometimes these jewels find their way to you, and they want to be received unconditionally.
