Welcome to Bridget Kennedy Contemporary Jewellery, located at 83 Longueville Road in Lane Cove, Australia. We are a unique institution that combines the elements of an art gallery, establishment, jewelry store, and point of interest. Our institution showcases a curated selection of Australian jewelry artists and offers an online retail store for your convenience.
Bridget Kennedy, the founder and artist behind our institution, operates her home studio in Lane Cove, surrounded by a productive permaculture garden. Visitors are invited to explore the cabinets of stunning jewelry pieces while enjoying the serene atmosphere of the garden. Bridget specializes in contemporary 'remakeries' and bespoke workshops, including the opportunity to create your own wedding rings to commemorate special occasions.
As an Australian Contemporary Artist, Bridget embodies a deep belief in a connected, resilient, and sustainable creative community. Her independent practice, advocacy work, exhibitions, and support of other makers and community projects are all driven by this vision. She strongly believes in the power of creativity to express ourselves, connect with others, question, challenge, and find new answers. Bridget envisions a future world where we create less but reap more, where surplus is felt through connection rather than coveting, and where life is explored through creativity and creative thinking.
Bridget's professional practice is broad, encompassing jewelry design, installation, and conceptual art. She is also the Director of The Project Space, where she frequently runs community-based projects. Passionate about permaculture and urban food production, Bridget completed a Permaculture Design Certificate in 2013.
At Bridget Kennedy Contemporary Jewellery, sustainability is a core value that extends beyond the environmental impact. Bridget is constantly rethinking her processes and strives to reduce, reuse, repair, recreate, refurbish, and recycle. If a design or material does not align with her sustainability goals, she is eager to redesign or remove it. Every aspect of her work contributes to a shared vision of a connected, resilient, and sustainable creative community.
One of Bridget's specialties is refashioning tired and broken jewelry into new heirlooms. This not only adds a unique touch to your jewelry but also reduces the need for mining new gold from our precious planet. If you have inherited jewelry that is not to your taste, Bridget can help you repurpose your existing gold and gemstones, creating new memories and meaning. She can even use old gold for wedding and engagement rings, giving them a sentimental and sustainable touch.

"As a young designer, it's been so inspiring to work with Bridget and learn from an artist who is evidently passionate about not only her craft but her community as well! It's incredibly reassuring to know that working with Bridget supports true sustainablity in all its forms. I highly recommend her remakeries and workshops!"
"I cannot recommend Bridget enough. She really understood what I was looking for (even though I didn't) and I love the exquisite pair of earrings she made for me. Her skill, eye for detail and professionalism is commendable."
"Bridget added some sparkle to a very old I signet ring I had. I was thinking of using the gold for another project but she suggested adding some small diamonds to the area where the initials would have been engraved. Brilliant and creative update. Bridget was a delight to deal with and was very reasonable in cost."
"Bridget repaired a glass-winged statue of mine that I had for years, and thought could not be fixed. Bridget did such a wonderful job of reattaching the wing that had broken off, it was a seamless job. I highly recommend Bridget for all jewellery and other repairs :)"
"My fiance and I decided to make our own wedding rings, and Bridget was the ideal person to help us do that. She was kind, patient, generous with her time, and helped us to craft the perfect, unique set of wedding bands that made our wedding day even more special. Her ring making workshop is highly recommended to all those who wish to forgo a stock-standard wedding band in favour of a fun, exciting day of crafting their own unique rings. A pleasure to work with and speak to!"
