"Under 100km I paid $1900 for a water pump and thermostat repair. 65km later, I was quoted with over $4,000 repair for the same issues. I was 9 months out of parts and labour warranty. No remorse given other than a waive of the diagnostics fee and that was because they were already doing an oil repair I paid $1200 for 14months ago that they "had" to repair yet they act like they are "helping out" lol. On top of that, they damaged my vehicle and it was put into the panel shop over the weekend. I was not notified of this until I picked up the vehicle and it was advised to me in these very similar words "It's only right to tell you what happened to the vehicle" and showed me the repair of the damages. That was ok but I should have been advised at the earliest convenience. I refused the $4000 quote on the water pump repair and drove the car home after the oil leak repair under warranty was done and the panel beating on the damages they did was done. The next afternoon I had a chance to see under the hood and screws were missing. I then called and received a message regarding the missing screws. I sent the photo's and advised what was missing and I am still yet to receive a reply. Three stars removed for the lack of inspection on a coolant leak and not isolating where the actual leak is and if you understand how the cooling system works, you will know that it wont be every single hose, the water pump, thermostat and more... This is why I was reimbursed the diagnostic fee because there was no diagnostic. Another star removed for missing parts and the fact that the initial repair when I paid $1900 was not fully repaired at that time and they left the car with corroded hoses initially but I trusted their "highly-skilled specialist Volkswagen technicians" as described on their website so I felt that had they did the repair properly the first time, I could have got a bit longer on the car, but they didn't - I feel like they knew I'd be back sooner or later. If you do decide to have your repairs here, please understand what goes into these repairs, check for surrounding parts or components and make sure the fault is isolated and not mapped into a "zone" giving them the freedom to say and do as they please and in some circumstances use "Refurbished" parts that will probably fail. Water pumps on Volkswagens are known faults worldwide, and there is a class action against them in the US. It's shocking that they are allowed to get away with faults that are not up to standards and their only response is "wear and tear". On top of that Volkswagen has been rated poorly for quality cars in Australia by many. I wouldn't recommend this brand unless you were prepared to pay for consistent repairs predominantly on "water pumps" - just google it and you will see. I even offered to cover repair costs if parts were covered seeing I just paid $1900 and was only 9 months out of the parts and labour warranty, however this was refused and customer service through Volkswagen was zero help! I have never seen such bad service and care. I have worked in warranty, repairs and parts industry's before and I can assure you there are better brands out there that are more fair and understanding of situations like these (Major repeated faults) This place is revolting and won't be getting a dime from me, and friends and family will be told to steer clear from this brand and any brands linked under Volkswagen."
