About Koshigaya Park
Koshigaya Park, located in Campbelltown, Australia, is the crown jewel of the city's parks and a must-visit tourist attraction. This beautiful establishment offers a range of outdoor activities and functions, making it a popular venue for families and friends to gather.
The park boasts a variety of amenities, including sheltered picnic tables, BBQ facilities, toilet amenities, and a playground. Named after Campbelltown's sister city in Japan, the playground caters to kids of all ages, with climbing frames, slides, swings, jungle gyms, and interactive learning games. There is even a fenced playground with a swing designed specifically for children with disabilities. Shade cloths protect kids from the harsh sun, and the soft-rubber fall surface helps prevent any tears from falls. The open space in the park is perfect for running around and playing games.
After enjoying a meal at one of the undercover picnic tables cooked on the communal BBQs, visitors can take a leisurely stroll or bike ride on the cycleway and admire the park's beautiful gardens. Additionally, the park is conveniently located next to Campbelltown CBD's shops and restaurants, including Campbelltown Mall.
Koshigaya Park also features Campbelltown's first public yarning circle, built as part of the Campbelltown 2020 program. This unique space offers the opportunity to experience Aboriginal culture and history, providing a special place for people to gather, chat, and connect with family, friends, or colleagues. The yarning circle showcases a series of artworks and carvings depicting the Lyrebird, an Aboriginal Dreaming story symbolizing communication and conflict resolution among animals. The yarning circle also includes sandstone rocks, bush tucker tree plantings, and messaging in the Dharawal language.
Everyone is welcome at the Campbelltown 2020 Yarning Circle, and it is a place of honor and respect for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Traditional Custodians, Elders, and communities. The Lyrebird and Wiritjiribin feather artwork within the space was created by Aunty Jenny Shillingsworth and Uncle Larry Hill, adding a touch of cultural significance to the park.
For convenience, parking and accessible unisex toilets are available, and after-hours access requires a Master Lock Smith Access Key (MLAK). Access to the car park is located off Camden Rd, and a bus stop can be found next to the park on Hurley St.
At Koshigaya Park, visitors can enjoy a day filled with outdoor fun, cultural experiences, and relaxation in the heart of Campbelltown. Come and explore this incredible institution that celebrates both nature and Aboriginal heritage.

Reviews of Koshigaya Park
"Went here to attend the Chill Festival held each year. Great park with amble car parking, tasty food trucks and rides. A great day out for young and old."
"Chill Fest 2023 was not worth the trip as the festival was one hour away from my place. I would recommended only for kids. The rides wasn’t good enough for adults. However, there were winter vibe and was clean."
"Clean playground, shaded, soft&safe ground, beautifully designed and colourful, gently challenging for my 2.5 Yr old grandchild. A very joyful place. Plus, across the road from the Library which has Story Time, 10.30am on Fridays, during school terms."
"Beautiful and well maintained. Great play area for kids including wheelchair swing. Lots of undercover tables and chairs as well as lovely shady trees to picnic under. Bathrooms are clean enough but do not have soap so make sure to bring sanitiser. There is a water refill station which is handy and lots of open grassy areas. I like that there is a no ball games area to ensure picnics are undisturbed. There are barbecue facilities too."
