About Wildwood Garden
Welcome to Wildwood Garden, a hidden gem nestled in the picturesque Blue Mountains of Australia. Located at Bilpin, Powells Road, 29, this establishment is not just a park or a tourist attraction, but a labor of love by two dedicated gardeners, Wayne and Sue Tapping.
For over 40 years, Wayne and Sue have meticulously crafted this magnificent garden, showcasing a stunning collection of cool climate plants in a natural woodland setting. No matter the season, there is always something to delight visitors in this enchanting garden.
In mid-September, the cherry walk bursts into peak flower, creating a breathtaking sight. As you explore further, you'll come across a fragrant daphne hedge, a magnificent waterfall with ponds, and a serene large lake. The garden offers sweeping views, gravel paths, and beautifully placed sculptures, including a magnificent sandstone sofa. The air is fresh and exhilarating, and the birdlife is abundant.
Wildwood Garden boasts a wide variety of rare and unusual plants, ensuring there is always something in bloom throughout the year. Autumn brings a vibrant display of colors as deciduous trees and shrubs transform from green to shades of red, orange, and yellow. As winter gives way to spring, the garden comes alive with a riot of flower colors, as trees, shrubs, climbers, bulbs, and perennials burst into bloom. The breathtaking display of Wildwood camellias and blossom trees in late winter and spring is not to be missed.
As spring transitions to summer, the garden becomes adorned with the vibrant hues and intoxicating scents of roses and perennials. It's a sensory experience that will leave you in awe.
While you explore the garden, don't forget to visit our gift shop and nursery. The gift shop offers an exciting selection of decorative ornaments, gifts, and furnishings, perfect for bringing a piece of Wildwood Garden into your own home. The nursery features plants propagated from those found in the garden, as well as seasonal color and native plants.
After a leisurely stroll through the garden, take a moment to relax and rejuvenate at our tea and coffee service. Indulge in delightful treats such as scones, cakes, and homemade apple pie with cream. Alternatively, you're welcome to bring a picnic and enjoy it amidst the beauty of the garden.
Currently, the garden is adorned with the beauty of blooming bulbs, kurume azaleas, dogwoods, magnolias, and blossom trees. Spring has brought an explosion of color and perfume that will enchant your senses.
Come and experience the magic of Wildwood Garden. Immerse yourself in the tranquility, beauty, and serenity of this extraordinary oasis in the heart of the Blue Mountains.

Reviews of Wildwood Garden
"Beautiful and varied gardens with a shop, cafe and pot plants for sale. Personally it was my first time visiting gardens seeking autumn colours to photograph and I wasn't disappointed! Camellias and salvia were also in bloom at this time. The owners are there to greet you on entry and they provide a map. They've done a great job with it all!"
"Lovely owners, a privelge to share their years of continous beautiful hard work evidenced in the gardens. Helpful instructions, map, clean bathrooms, cafe and shop. Had a lovely day with family there, lots of photo opportunities, wonderful flowers and autumnal colours when we went. Likely to have more autumnal colours in the next month! Would've been good to bring picnic things to enjoy the scenery and weather ... maybe next time!"
"A lovely garden. I went with my parents and roamed around. There was a variety of plants and flowers and it was a very enjoyable experience. I especially loved the pond and the lawn next to it. I recommend checking it out."
"Beautiful garden well maintained. If you’re not pressed for time, taking the walk slowly and enjoying the garden is a very relaxing experience. There’s a beautiful picnic area by the water if you plan for one. You can spend a whole day chilling."
"Very beautiful garden with plenty of flowers and plants not only display but on sale. The waterfall and pond is truly idyllic and the rows of roses and gardens are enthralling. It is family-friendly and has plenty of paths to go to discover new flowers."
