"We were so excited to finally make it to this Malaysian restaurant, tucked away in Dandenong- less than a km from Dandenong hospital !! Lots of parking around the shop. There is a bus stop right there as well for those who prefer public transport. Please tell the operators how sweet you want your Teh Tarik as it can be very sweet! My husband is really pleased with his nasi lemak chicken! He rates it 9/10 I ordered all the three types of satays - chicken ($1.80 p stick), lamb and beef ($2/ stick). However, the lamb and beef were a bit dry. I rate them 7/10 The operators were generous with their satay sauce and accompanying cucumber and onion. Overall, it is a pleasant experience - don’t have to rush back to Malaysia for the cravings anymore !!"
"A typical little satay joint like back home! Friendly and jokingly service. Authentic satay at reasonable prices. Beryani rice is really south-east asian style and lamb is tender, no wonder it's popular as recommended by the boss! Group bigger than 4 people may need to wait for tables. I'll be back for more yummy satays!"
"Drove some 50km to try this place as the ratings were very good especially for their satay. Arrived there at about 7pm, waited 10 minutes at the counter to order. One poor guy was behind the counter cooking, the other guy was no where to be seen at one point. We noticed that there were two large tables of 8, one table had not received their food yet, the other only received their satay which they have finished and their other main meals came long about 30 mins later. One couple had not received their food yet and the woman’s face was getting really dark and impatient. Seeing that we will probably not get our order anytime soon, we decided to just order the Mixed Satay 10 pce set and some curry puffs. Just to try the satay that the reviews were raving about. The curry puffs were whited out on the menu, so none were available. We got our order 30 mins later. It appeared to a mixture of 4 chicken, 4 beef and 2 lamb skewers, 1 ketupat (compressed rice), some cucumber and onion wedges and a bowl of satay sauce. The cumin in the chicken satay was a little overpowering and the meat was dry, some pieces were a little “sinewy”. The beef was like chewing on a semi dried jerky. One piece had a large chunk of tendon. The lamb was tasty and well balanced in flavour. Kudos to them for not adding any chunks of fat to make it less dry but the result is dry pieces of meat. The ketupat was very tasty with a dollop of the satay sauce. The sauce was tasty although the peanuts were a little chunky and more sauce would have been nice. Needless to say, we were very disappointed with the fact that the ratings did not reflect the quality of the food we had. Maybe it’s the time of day, maybe they were short staffed, maybe, just maybe… Needless to say , we will not return."
"Newly opened business. The satay has the nice charcoal flavour. We preferred the chicken as it was softer. But they all tasted good. We also had the beef briyani. It was nice. Not too spicy. And remember to get a teh tarik to complement your meal. Enjoy."
