About Phillip Island Wildlife Park
Welcome to Phillip Island Wildlife Park, a must-visit establishment and tourist attraction located at Cowes, Phillip Island Road, 2115. As an enchanting park and zoo, we offer a unique opportunity to experience the diverse wildlife that Australia is famous for, as well as spot some rare and seldom seen animals.
Spread across a vast 60 acres, our park is home to over 100 different species of Australian animals. Here, you can not only observe these magnificent creatures, but also hand feed them and have up-close encounters. It's truly a remarkable experience that both international and local visitors will cherish.
One of the highlights of our park is the free-range environment where kangaroos and wallabies roam freely. You can hand feed and pat these gentle creatures, ranging from the majestic Red Kangaroos to the adorable Parma Wallabies. Witness kangaroos with their joeys all year round and enjoy the unique opportunity to view koalas up close from our raised boardwalk.
In addition to these iconic animals, our park is also home to a variety of bird species. Their distinct calls fill the air as you marvel at the size of the flightless Emu and Cassowary. Explore the world of nocturnal birds like the Tawny Frogmouths and various species of owls. Admire the colorful parrots, loud cockatoos, and birds of prey, both big and small.
Children will be captivated by the sight of bats hanging upside down, koalas perched in trees, and baby animals nestled in their mothers' pouches. They'll delight in touching the soft fur of a wallaby and feeling the rough coat of a wombat.
Please note that the last entry and ticket sale into the park is at 4 pm, so plan your visit accordingly to avoid disappointment. Unfortunately, tickets will not be available for purchase after this time. We also recommend wearing appropriate footwear due to recent wet weather.
Tickets can be purchased at the main entrance, and prices are subject to change without prior notice. If you're coming from Melbourne, it's a leisurely 90-minute drive southeast to reach our park. Alternatively, you can take the V-line bus from Southern Cross Station in Melbourne city to Cowes, Phillip Island. For more information on bus details, call V/Line on 1800 800 007 or visit www.ptv.vic.gov.au.
The Western Port Passenger Ferry Service also operates between Stony Point on the Mornington Peninsula and Cowes on Phillip Island. You can connect to the ferry via the V-Line train from Stony Point and enjoy a scenic ride to Cowes. For ferry details, call Westernport Ferries on 03 5257 4565 or visit westernportferries.com.au.

Reviews of Phillip Island Wildlife Park
"A natural rustic scenery this park offers an extensive range of Australian Wildlife. Easy to get around. The animals are close and some you can feed by hand and pat. You can walk around with Wallaby, Emu, Swans and Cape Barren Geese and lots more. The park has a large wetlands where you can enjoy watching wildlife in their natural habitat. Plenty of parking. A small gift shop. I highly recommend a visit. You will thoroughly enjoy."
"Amazing, you can see a lot of Animals and even feed canguros. Definitely a visit worth. Keep in mind, the animals there are not wild, more kept in different enclosures like in a zoo."
"This place is amazing. It doesn't do the advertising that the Koala park does, but that's a politics-kind-of-thing, not a reflection on their quality. You can feed and pet kangaroos and wallabies (my personal favourite). Many of the wallabies have Joey's, as well, and you get to see them climbing in and out of their mom's pouch. The cost is very reasonable, and extra bags of food are only one dollar - so, you can feed 'till your heart is content. There are also other cool animals that you get to see (but not pet and feed), such as Tazzy Devils and Dingos. For the bird-fans, there are birds - not really my thing. This is a huge park, and you can easily spend all day here, and I would set aside at least a few hours, and that's if you don't linger too long... you can pretty much spend all day with these guys, if you want."
"An experience of a lifetime and one I will never forget. Watching the animals roam freely is such a beautiful and rare thing. Getting up close and personal with the Kangaroos, feeding them from my hand and petting them was the highlight of my trip to Australia so far - and it only costs $21pp entry plus $1 per bag for the Kangaroo food (you can buy as many bags as you like - we bought 6 bags between the 2 of us!). Not to be missed."
