"La Onda is one of the new generation cafes on the Peninsula, an area that’s been in need of better food choices. We had a leisurely lunch here and enjoyed ourselves immensely. We sampled a range of Latin mex standards and liked them all. We started with chips and spicy salsa, chicken quesadilla, beef tacos, pork ribs, maya salad, papas fritas (roast potato), churros and fair trade coffee by common folk. Everything was done very well. Service was terrific too, friendly and nicely efficient. At around $40 plus a head without alcohol La Onda is not a cheap option but it’s still one that’s well worth pursuing. Next Visit This is a very good Mexican restaurant. The food is high quality and very flavoursome. The service is friendly and efficient. We had a terrific time here tonight. We loved all our dishes. Cerviche, corn chips and guacamole, chicken tacos, beef tacos, fish tacos, colochos with cheese, churros and Tres Leches cake, some Argentinian pianos gris, I think, and a special Modelo beer which was wonderful. It’s not a cheap night out - Mexican is never cheap in Australia in my experience - but it’s still great value because of the fun you have. We’d come here anytime. It’s a terrific place"

"We just left this beautiful restaurant for our second time eating here, and both experiences have been beyond amazing. The food is incredible (we love the elote and fish tacos especially), but the staff and atmosphere really make this place. The restaurant is small which is perfect for the vibe, very authentic and staff are genuinely passionate about the food. The staff are beyond lovely and are always super quick to refill water bottles, clear plates, offer napkins etc all without asking. Cannot recommend this place enough. Plenty of parking in the area. Recommend booking ahead as it is popular"
