Reviews of Encounter Travel
"I have now travelled 2x with them, efficiency, helpful staff all makes for a great holiday"
"I recently returned from Encourter Travels “ Colours of Morocco “ it was amazing! The people of Morocco are very welcoming and love to share their beautiful country with you. From the time I flew into Casablanca and visited the largest Masque in Morocco then sipped on Cocktails at Rick’s Cafe from the movie, Casablanca “Play It Again Sam.” it felt so exotic. Marrakech was wonderful with a horse and carriage ride through the busy city. Our amazing tour guide Karim grew up in Marrakesh. Everywhere we went everyone knew him, even the local Waterman. It is a very special city with lovely gardens, museums and exotic markets, even a snake charmer, with a Cobra. It was fascinating to learn about the Berber People, the Moroccan indigenous peoples. A visit to the Berber museum to see all the ancient clothing they wore and the stunning breast plates and headwear was remarkable. The Berber people are still there, hand making magnificent carpets and pottery. I had the privilege to visit the factories where they use their talent to produce stunning carpets and pottery. The fortified City of Ait Ben Haddou was spectacular with its crumbed ruins from the 11th century laying bare showing it’s mosaic handmade floors, broken columns and archways. A very special highlight for me was trekking across the sand dunes of the Sarah Desert by Camel Caravan, while watching the spectacular sunset brilliantly change the colours of the dunes as the sun dropped from the sky. As we approached our luxury glamping site we were greeted with pre dinner refreshments. We watched as the Camel Caravan walked off into the distance and over the dunes with the sun setting behind them. What a memory. After dinner and an entertaining musical treat from the locals I retired the my large luxury tent for the night. The next morning was a fun filled fast, four wheel drive over the dunes. Scary but lots of fun. Chefchaouen is a stunning old city full of stunning little houses, buildings, streets, walls and stairways all painted in many different shades of blue with a white trim. It looks so picturesque set on the side of huge mountains known as the Horns. There are beautiful forests to explore too, with amazing waterfalls, hiking tracks and The Bridge of God. Tangier is full of colourful villages, Mosques and Tombs. It has the largest Harbour in Morocco. Billy Thorpe travelled to Tangier and fell in love with its beauty. He rented a 2,000 year old house and loved the music and people so much he wrote an album called “Tangier”, just before he passed away. I also have to mention, The many huge markets in each city, tucked into the tiny streets and alleyways, with the fragrance of spices, leather and fresh food, homewares and clothes. Amazing. The uplifting Moroccan Spas in Fez The beautiful ladies who make the “Moroccan Gold” oil extracted from the Argan nut. All by hand. The shepherds with their flock all around the countryside The little donkeys you see everywhere loaded up with goods from the markets. The fast train from Tangier to Casablanca The 17 days went by very fast with so much to see and explore. If you are thinking about visiting Morocco, just do it!"
"I booked 18 day Colours of Morocco solo tour, 40+ through Encounter. It was my first overseas trip as a solo traveller and it has given me confidence to do it again. The company was prompt and efficient providing information before and during the booking period. There was sufficient information provided. The tour guide was knowledgeable and very helpful and obliging. The itinerary was good with some faster paced days and some more at leisure. I would use Encounter Travel again."
"I travelled with Encounter Travel for the first time in May, 2021, doing the Outback Longreach Tour. What a fantastic holiday. So much to see and do with an amazing driver/tour guide who ensured we experiencedthe true outback. We spent a night glamping under the Milky Way in Big Sky Country. Saw so much that the region had to offer including tourist attractions as well as time at properties. The food and hospitality were amazing. After seeing what the outback had to offer we then concluded the trip on The Spirit of the Outback train trip back to Brisbane. What a great experience to see the Australian scenery go from flat wide land to mountain ranges and coastal scenery. Encounter Travel is for Solo Travellers and our group were amazing. All like minded travellers who all got on well and made the trip amazing! I can highly recommend Encounter Travel. The team at Encounter Travel are very obliging and extremely knowledgeable. They make sure every detail is taken care of so you can sit back and enjoy your time away. I enjoyed my tour so much I have booked further tours with Encounter and can't wait to travel with them again. Do yourself a favour and book an Encounter Holiday - you will love it!!!"
"My husband went on a motorbike tour without me, so I went to Norfolk Island with Encounter Travel without him :). I had a wonderful holiday and can't recommend Justine and Encounter Travel highly enough! Every day was action packed with a diverse range of tours, walks and yummy food. One of the highlights of the trip for me was meeting such a lovely group of people. It was so interesting talking and sharing new experiences with such a fun group of like minded people. I'm encouraging my husband to book another motorbike tour, so I can book my next adventure with Encounter Travel!!! Kathryn, 47, Victoria"
