Reviews of Blooms The Chemist
"Always have my husband's medicine ready and are there for him so thankyou blooms for making things easy for him in his time of need as he isn't well"
"I was a regular customer at Blooms for 8 years and during this time I was frequently reminded by fellow customers and ex customers, of the pharmacist’s consistently rude and arrogant behaviour. He was never pleasant to me, but this didn’t trouble me particularly at the time. I had already been warned a few times, that he had a penchant for being rude to customers with mental illness. If he chose to be a jerk, what could I do? However, late 2022 on discharge from hospital, it was arranged that I would start Webster paks through Blooms. It was more hindrance than help from the get go. Needing a doctors letter to cease even Panadol from the pack. That wasn’t Blooms fault, but I found the whole thing awfully frustrating. So when I had possession of all new scripts, I went to another pharmacy and had them filled. I felt it was time for a change, and I really wanted a pharmacist I could talk to. Not one who did nothing to disguise his contempt. I rang Blooms to tell them what I had done and cancelled my Webster paks days before I was to pick them up. The way I was spoken to when I told the staff member was disgraceful. She literally screamed down the phone that I owed them $84.95 because medication had been dispensed, that I needed a doctor’s letter to stop the service, that the pharmacist could dispense without a script. I said that I would have to pay next week because I’d already had my medication dispensed at another pharmacy (I was shocked, I didn’t know what to say). It went on and on, what would happen if I didn’t pay etc. She was so rude I felt compelled to say “there is no need to speak to me like that”, but she kept on. Fortunately I had someone else in the room with me. My phone wasn’t on speaker; however she still heard the staff member clearly. I was absolutely stunned by the woman’s behaviour. What possible justification could she have for speaking to anyone in that way?!? Then again I had been told about this staff member’s record of rude behaviour to customers; I just hadn’t been lucky enough to experience it myself. Did I mention I was a loyal customer for 8 years…? Ok, so I did assume I could cancel the Webster paks myself. Silly me, thinking that as an adult I could end the service myself. Blooms didn’t provide me with any information on the “do’s and don’ts” of the service. I don’t see why the customer should have google that information. It was an honest mistake, plus I assumed incorrectly how many days prior to my pick up date, they dispensed to the pack. My GP emailed him the next day, so I could officially stop the service. I didn’t return to Blooms to pay the following week; I’d already had my scripts filled for the month elsewhere. I couldn’t see how it would be legal to go pick up the same pills there a week later. Plus I didn’t know who to ask to clarify the matter (I certainly wasn’t going to ask Blooms!). I avoided returning as well because I was very nervous about how I would be received after making this “unforgivable” mistake. As far as I know, my Webster pak is still there, and I haven’t supplied any scripts. Anyway, I received a bill about 2 weeks later for $84.95. I looked up the dispensing laws in NSW (which was riveting)all because the medication was dispensed sans scripts. Finally I rang up the Pharmacy Guild and was told about ‘owing scripts’, that it was a grey area. I realised that if I took it further it would just be a massive s$&t storm, it wasn’t worth the trouble. The unbelievable element to this saga is that even after 8 years of loyalty as a customer, my first mistake and I’m treated like rubbish. Why they don’t attach a Webster pak user guide to the actual webster pak, I don’t get. It wouldn’t have taken much effort, would’ve prevented this situation and I wouldn’t have had to search the net after the fact. Sure, he got his $84.95. However, he’s lost my custom of $1000’s a year and that of 2 other now ex customers as well. Of all the things we can be in this world, the best thing you can be is kind."
"Having to argue about what type of medication (eye drops or cream) is best for my child and what he will allow is to do is most annoying! Then being told from the tall, male, balding with glasses pharmacist that I need to tell my 2 year old to put up with it, while the pharmacist is trying to push the eye drops onto me.... I know cream works best and easiest for my child. As he has had it a few times before. I KNOW MY CHILD BEST. NOT YOU. I think you guys need to rethink how you approach customers. Especially with just an over the counter conjunctivitis cream...."
"Very reasonable prices and great services (like flu vax and Covid vax and many other community services) Good advice (even before I was a customer) Always busy."
