"I’ve recently discovered this wholesome family run restaurant after four years living in Vietnam, now back in Melbourne and searching for good home made Vietnamese food. There aren’t many Vietnamese restaurants on this side of Brunswick east but this one is particularly special and deserves a lot more attention. It has a humble and cosy atmosphere amongst all the noise of lygon street. Cô Sáu and her husband have owned this restaurant for 18+ years and are so generous with their hospitality every time I come in. They have a menu with a wide selection of Vietnamese dishes - try the bún thịt nướng (pork with rice vermicelli) bò la lọt (vine leaf wrapped pork) and my favourite dessert plain and simple the deep fried banana with ice cream and peanuts. They also have the soups (phở and bún bò Huế) which hit just right. Cô Sáu is usually in there with a red shirt on - make sure you tell her Nathan sent you - She will treat you good!"
