"Was served by Henry this afternoon 21/5/23 and wow such amazing customer service and an amazing attitude!! The world needs more people like Henry :)"
"Local Aldi located in Lidcombe shopping centre. Well stocked, consistent Aldi quality. Can get quite busy during peak times."
"Some of their staff at register needs re-training! What's so hard about recognising people's proper age? Today when we brought two bottles of wines from their store! That guy at register no.5 purposely checked both of our IDs! ( My wife and I are both over 40 Yrs of age) Just to make the matter even worse - that cheeky young guy at the register was making joke about my hat, followed by further question - ' where are yous from?' seriously their store manager needed to re- train their staff to have some politeness and manner!"
"Aldi needs to clearly define its policy regarding incorrect, missing or misleading price labels. If it's already defined, then the staff here need some retraining to follow that policy in a customer-friendly manner. Earlier today I picked up a 24-pack of toilet paper without realising the $9.89 price sticker next to it (photo attached) was for a different product. After a 5-minute wait at the billing counter, it being a busy Saturday, I realised I had actually tapped and paid $16.79 - I would have easily missed it if I had picked up more items like I usually do. When I pointed out to the billing assistant that I had picked up the item thinking it was $9.89, I was told that the price is $16.79. I offered to run back to the aisle and take a picture (going by what Coles or Woollies ask customers to do in such situations) of the misleading price label. To my surprise, my offer to fetch a picture of the price for proof was turned down subtly. Neither was there any sort of apology for the inconvenience to me. Irrespective of whether it is there in Aldi's employee training and orientation program or not, apologising to the customer for any real or perceived inconvenience is the most intuitive courtesy to be followed by any customer-facing employee, isn't it? To such a polite gesture, any customer would then respond with "No worries" and move on, won't they? The two billing assistants then had a quick word and went on to process me a refund. They were unperturbed when I hinted to them that I might want to report about the wrong price labels on Aldi's website. I now decided that I had to go back and gather proof for this post. When I went back in to take the picture of the wrong label, an Aldi employee who was refilling the racks was curious about me taking pictures. When I told him what had transpired, his response was even more callous: "See bro, it is a different brand mentioned on the label." When I pointed out that I might have missed the finer details because the label was next to the wrong product, his response turned even more defensive and mildly accusative: "But brother, see here the label says Quilton but the product below is Sorbent. You should have read carefully." My fault it was! End of story :-) I love the low prices that only Aldi manages to offer, and also understand that they are achieved partly through small signature stores and minimal staffing. But with minimal staffing also comes the need for training them differently, not only in running the stores efficiently but also in treating the customers well in tricky situations like this. My two cents!"
