"Not really sure how to describe it, other than it being the worst experience getting a haircut then I’ve ever had. It was like me rocking up for a hair cut was the worst possible result for the barber this morning. Have never been spoken to that way before and hope it doesn’t happen to anyone else. Been coming here since it opened up and I think it’ll be the last time after today. Just hope they think about the customer and bare minimum customer service “hi, how are you today?”"
"The rating was for my experience with Monte, not her service as I didn’t get a cut in the end. I showed up just before 9am. Politely waiting. Monty soon came to open the shop. I waited another few minutes outside while she was prepping and then I went to announce myself. No greetings from her, the first thing said was we are barbershop and we can’t cut womens cuts. Interestingly throughout the conversation I had never been asked once what kind of haircut I am after. I would’ve just left if she was a little more polite. I was also embarrassed about taken up her 30 min appt. I apologised and asked if she would mind that I leave. Instead she went on to give me a lecture. She insisted that customers should know a barbershop cannot cut womens hair because it takes 45min to an hour to cut women’s hair as she’s done it for 11 years. Women should go to a hair salon and they will be charged $90 as a standard. She almost started going off at me at this point that they don’t even blow waves here or have hair products and tools for women. Her behaviour changed my mind about just leaving the shop. I told her I used to come here to see Sean a few years ago. She said no, you didn’t, I looked you up, you had never booked with us. I said I did, probably under a different email account. By this point, I knew I’d not let her cut my hair no matter what. She went on to say this is a mens-only barbershop. And I should know not to book with her if only Sean knows how to cut my hair. That I should follow him and only book with him. I said it’s been a few years since I was last here. I didn’t know if he was still here. I was happy for anyone here to do it. I spent the longest 25min of my life there. Still she wasn't happy that I booked her slot. She said ‘You people should learn to respect service staff. I will not allow customers to abuse me and try to get a discounted women’s cut here.’ She also said I had been talking over her and trying to make her feel bad and verbally abuse her. I left when she said those words. Spoke to my girlfriend and colleagues and we are still in disbelief that this happened. No customers should be treated this way. If you're thinking of getting your haircut here. I will recommend you take your money to someone else who can act professionally. Not all barbers are the same."
"I've previously had an appointment with Sean and it was a great experience, but this morning I received some of the worst customer service I've seen in a long time from an employee called Monte! It all started when I arrived at my scheduled time, only to be told in a frosty manner that I was late. I said I had arrived at the time I'd booked, but was told that my booking had been rescheduled and that I would have received a notification. I explained that I'd received an text notification (confirming my scheduled time) and hadn't received any notification of a change, to which I was told we don't send text notifications and that I should check my emails (of which there was no email notification either). At this point, figuring I didn't want to make small talk with someone like this for the duration of my appointment, I calmly got up and told her "look if this is going to be too hard, then I'll think I'll just leave it" and left. This should have been the end of it, but Monte decided to follow me down the street and yell that she wasn't putting up with the "abuse", of which there was none, and to inform me that I'd been "banned" from not only the Nunawading store, but also the Camberwell store too! Anyway, after some time wondering how I was ever going to get a hair cut or beard trim again, after being banned by both the Nunawading and Camberwell stores, from nothing more than rejecting poor service, I realised that there is in fact other barbers out there and maybe things will be ok?"
"I would like to express the bad experience that I had today at your barber located in Nunawading. I had an appointment at 9:30 am for a Buzz cut with Monte, I arrived at the place and first thing, there was a dog at the door ( no big deal) but I didn't go in as a was cautious for him to get loose or something else so I waited until Monte came out to grab him , from there she started to be so rude saying stuff like this is not a door service and if you wanna get service you need to go in for what I tried to explain why I didn't get in. Second when she finally checked that I had an appointment, I explained her that I wanted just a trim what made her even more mad as the booking was made for a Buzz cut (I did that booking as i didn't find the option for just trim), I offered her to pay extra if that was the problem but then she started to say that wasn't the business model and this is not how the world works , I apologise again for my mistake and I offered her to pay for the appointment even though I didn't take the service to what she say she was not talking about charging anything and start to say I was rude since I didn't get in because of the dog . As we didn't solve anything I decided to walk off and end this argument. To be honest I was just trying to get a hair cut but I didn't expect this kind of treatment, I had booked in there coz I had a good experience with a girl approximately 2 years ago, her name was Hannah so I thought it was gonna be like before."
