About Dr Sue Mobile Vet
Welcome to Dr Sue Mobile Vet, located at 148 Wattletree Road in Malvern, Australia. As a trusted establishment and point of interest in veterinary care, we strive to create a comfortable and compassionate environment for both you and your beloved companion.
With over 30 years of experience in small animal care, I, Dr Sue, hold a Masters degree in Companion Animal Medical and Surgery. Additionally, I have recently completed an international certificate in palliative and end-of-life care, specializing in in-home euthanasia. This extensive training allows me to provide supportive veterinary care to cats and dogs in quarantine, easing the anxiety of both pets and their owners.
To ensure that I stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in veterinary medicine, I regularly attend conferences and seminars. Combining this knowledge with my years of experience, I am able to provide the best possible care for my patients and effectively communicate with their concerned human companions.
Outside of my professional life, I am a proud pet owner myself. I share my home with two adorable Shih Tzus named Wanda and Bean, as well as some very special rescue cats, Indy and Polar. In my free time, I enjoy indulging in a good cup of coffee, playing golf with friends, embarking on multi-day hikes in Tasmania and New Zealand, and playing the bass guitar.
For nearly three decades, I have been caring for cats, dogs, and rabbits throughout all stages of life. When it comes to the end of their journey, I firmly believe that providing euthanasia in their familiar home environment is the most compassionate and caring choice we can make for them. With my extensive training in end-of-life care, I aim to create a pain-free, calm, and safe environment where you can say goodbye to your beloved companion. Whether it's in a sunny spot under a window or under a tree in the garden, we can honor their life and celebrate the memories that made them so special.
Being involved in end-of-life care is a privilege, and I understand the importance of respecting your wishes and beliefs during this difficult time. Prior to your appointment, we can discuss the process, arrangements, and any questions or requests you may have. It is essential to consider your feelings and philosophies to ensure that your companion's final moments are handled with the utmost care and respect.
For over 10 years, I have been working closely with Edenhills, a reputable cremation company. They offer individual cremation services, allowing you to choose whether you'd like to have the ashes returned to you or scattered at their cremation facility. After your companion has passed away, you will have the option to spend some private time saying goodbye before I respectfully transport your pet. The ashes will be returned to you by either myself or Edenhills staff, typically within 10 days. The cost of cremation varies based on factors such as the type of vessel and the weight of your pet, and I am more than happy to discuss this with you beforehand or during your appointment. There is no rush, and I can provide you with informational materials to review at your convenience, or you can access the Edenhills information by clicking on the button below.
At Dr Sue Mobile Vet, we understand the profound bond between you and your furry companion. Reviews of Dr Sue Mobile Vet
"Forever grateful Sue came late in the evening to relieve our old boy Louis who was suffering (we had already called 20 places and none could assist) . He was having a seizure every time we would move him and we knew last last car ride to the vet was not going to be a nice end of life experience. Sue is patient, kind, knowledgable, empathetic and understanding and we didn't feel rushed or pushed. We could see our boy was comfortable in his bed with all his family around and we got to hold him and love him till he let go and crossed the rainbow bridge. Thank you Sue for making a hard experience eased we are forever grateful and i'm sure so is our King Louis."
"We are immensely grateful to Dr Sue for easing the passing of our terminally ill beloved standard shnauzer. We were grateful to be able to do this at home, where he was most comfortable and without distress. Sue was responsive, communicative, willing to attend promptly, and most importantly- skilled and compassionate. She allowed us to take our time. Our dog liked her immediately. Thank you, Sue."
"Dr Sue is compassionate, competent, reliable and personal.Available at very short notice to accommodate our beloved's next journey.Although a heart breaking experience was comforted our senior dog was in his home and passed peacefully surrounded by those who love him. I highly recommend Dr Sue a kind wonderful vet and person ."
"We are so incredibly grateful to have Sue recommended to us to help say goodbye to our little cat Nala at very short notice. Sue was kind, compassionate and made the process of saying goodbye to our little one as nice as it could be, given Nala could be comfortable in her own home and bed with her humans. The follow up care from Sue after was really wonderful and she organised everything with Eden Hills which we really appreciated. I couldn't recommend her more if you are looking for a kind and caring home vet."
"It was a hard decision to make, but we had to put our 18 year old cat to sleep today. I am so glad we were able to do euthanasia in the comfort of our home, on the bed where he was so peaceful and not all the stress of taking him in the car, then being stressed at the vets office Sue was available at short notice and was very caring, informative and very knowledgeable. Thank you Sue, on this difficult day"
