About Queen Elizabeth Park
Welcome to Queen Elizabeth Park, located at 47 Broughton Street in Concord, Australia. This establishment is not just your average park - it is a point of interest and a popular tourist attraction in the City of Canada Bay. Set against the stunning backdrop of Sydney Harbour, Queen Elizabeth Park is surrounded by some of the most renowned and scenic sporting fields in New South Wales.
The park is home to numerous sports clubs, catering to both community grassroots and elite sports. The facilities here are top-notch, ensuring that athletes of all levels have access to high-quality amenities. The City of Canada Bay takes great pride in managing and maintaining these sportsgrounds, following a comprehensive Sportsfield Allocation Policy.
In order to ensure the safety and integrity of the playing surfaces, the sportsfields are inspected daily, especially during inclement weather. Although every effort is made to keep the fields open, there are occasions when they need to be closed temporarily. To stay updated on the status of the sportsfields, you can visit the Council's wet weather web page.
Concord Oval, located on Parramatta Road, has recently undergone a major redevelopment and is set to reopen in late 2022 as one of the premier sport and recreation venues in the City. This oval, along with Drummoyne Oval, provides multi-use sportsgrounds for various activities. Drummoyne Park and Taplin Park, adjacent to the Parramatta River and Drummoyne Bay respectively, offer additional opportunities for informal recreation and organized sports.
If you're looking for a synthetic sportsground, Majors Bay Reserve is the place to be. Starting from April 1, 2023, the public can enjoy this facility for informal use during daylight hours, unless it has been booked for organized sporting events or maintenance activities.
The City of Canada Bay has implemented a sports field rating system to ensure that all active sporting fields are in optimal condition. This system allows sporting groups to view the condition of the fields and promotes a sense of partnership between the groups and the Council. The goal is to maintain the fields' "Fit For Play" status and ensure their long-term longevity.
In the event that a sports field deteriorates to a critical point, the Council will notify the relevant sporting group and discuss potential actions, such as reduced training or reallocation of games. The Council aims to prevent fields from reaching a point of failure, where there is an increased risk of user injuries and irreparable damage to the surface.
Council faces various challenges, including expanding user groups, unpredictable weather, lack of rain, and water restrictions. However, the sports field Rating System has been well-received by user groups, providing a clear understanding of the field conditions through an interactive and visual format.
The City of Canada Bay strives to keep all fields usable and provides regular updates on wet weather conditions. However, please note that decisions on ground closures may be altered based on the current weather conditions.
We would like to acknowledge the Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, particularly the Wangal people of the Eora nation, as the first inhabitants of the nation and the traditional custodians of the lands where we live, learn, and work.

Reviews of Queen Elizabeth Park
"Beautiful to walk around, for the kids to play at or watch sport."
"Lovely large, open park with plenty of parking and great sports fields. Easy to find!"
"Wide open spaces. New playground area. Trees need to be maintained as there is a lot of dead branches hanging. In a strong wind don't go walking there or they could fall."
"The park is nice with plenty of open space, parking and the pathway of peace lined with Turpentine trees. The toilets were closed and the playground area is under construction. Not a bad place to run around or play cricket."
"More than a standard park to stroll around....it has the Russel Lee Women's soccer team canteen which means on some weekends there are cheapest bacon and egg or sausage sandwich you will find. Plus good junior football to watch."
