About Hemingway's Manly
Welcome to Hemingway's Manly, located on the iconic peninsula of Manly in Australia. As part of the vibrant food and beverage scene in this beachside paradise, we offer a unique blend of French cuisine with an Australian twist.
At Hemingway's, we believe in creating products that cater to all aspects of life, from your everyday meals to those special moments worth celebrating. Just like a well-orchestrated symphony, we aim to provide the perfect harmony between the beach life and the latest city trends.
Originally a well-known spot on the Northern beaches, Hemingway's was taken over by successful French restauranteurs in winter 2014. While preserving its identity, we have infused an exclusive, homemade French menu with the vibrant coffee and cocktail-bar culture, creating a delightful fusion of Montmartre bistro-style dining.
Whether you're joining us for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or drinks, Hemingway's Manly offers a unique atmosphere for every part of the day. Located by Sydney's famous Manly shore, our venue provides stunning waterfront views just meters from the bustling Corso.
Planning a special occasion? Our function room upstairs is licensed for up to 50 guests, allowing you to celebrate with your loved ones in style. And don't worry about the music – you can be your own DJ and play your favorite hits without any restrictions. Just come as you are, and we'll take care of the rest.
If you haven't experienced our Raclette Nights, it's time to remedy that! Served exactly as they do in France during winter, our Raclette nights are a true indulgence. Enjoy melted cheese, baby potatoes, a generous cured meat platter, and a refreshing green salad on the side. Whether it's a special occasion or simply a desire for pure gluttony, our Raclette Nights are a must-try.
Please note that we do not offer split bills, and a maximum of two credit cards are accepted per table. Additionally, there is a 10% surcharge on Sundays and a 15% surcharge on public holidays.
Join us at Hemingway's Manly and let us take care of your dining experience. C'est parti!

Reviews of Hemingway's Manly
"Had a very nice lunch here with my friend. The beef tartare was a great way to start a hearty lunch. The bouillabaisse was comfort food at its best. Apple tartine with ice cream was a delightful finish. Such a great atmosphere to dine at with lovely staff."
"Love the location on the corner to catch morning rays. A local delight, with great breakfast and also dinner. Nice atmosphere and decor. Look forward to my next visit!"
"This was our first, but certainly not last, visit to Hemingways. It was Saturday night, the classic two couples meal out. We were expecting French cuisine, but what we got was an evening in France. The venue felt authentic, with French-speaking staff attending in a regular but not intrusive manner. The food was simply tres magnifique. I had the classic steak frites and, no exaggeration, it was the best steak I’ve tasted. Ordered rare, it arrived soft as silk and perfectly cooked. Dessert was creme brulee, again perfectly crisp on top and creamy underneath. Decent wine list, including many French ones naturellement. The price worked out to be around $100 per person, but we hadn’t held back so seemed like good value - way cheaper than a flight to France. 5/5 fully recommend for a top night out in the heart of Manly."
"A beautiful authentic meal right on the beach at Manly. We had the parfait, beouf bourgignon and the boulabaise. All were excellent. The parfait was perfectly smooth, rich, and well offset by the fig jam and pickle. The bourgignon was very rich, generous and well presented. The sauce was taken right to the edge but was delicious. The truffle mash was excellent. The boulabaise was fresh, light and generous too. A few more slices of baguette would have helped. The staff were friendly and helpful."
"Hemingway’s is a unique local French bistro situated where the beach life and the city trends harmonise. The menu offered a French cuisine touch generously supported by the influence of our Australian way of life. All the food was delectable but I have to mention the Croque-Madame which was so flavoursome and delicious - I would eat it EVERY. SINGLE. DAY!"
