"Our family of animals have been coming to (Marendale, then Hanrob) since 2009. Firstly our rather feisty Red Heeler/German Shepherd, then our little Mini Jackadoodle along with our very shy Kelpie/Blue Heeler Cross. The staff at Hanrob have always been kind, professional and gentle with our dogs and I actually think that they genuinely enjoy being with them. We hate leaving our animals behind if we need to travel BUT having Hanrob at Duffys Forest so close by means we are assured of the very best care for them while we are away."
"We have left our dog twice there and he is always happy when we pick him up which is always a good sign. Left our new cat too and she seemed to had settled well too. The staff at reception are always friendly and you can see they love what they do. My favourite part is to receive the card reports regarding their stay, they give you an insight on what they did and how well they adjusted!"
"DO NOT LEAVE YOUR PET HERE DUFFYS Forest is a nightmare. We picked up our beautiful old dog today... dehydrated, malnourished and stressed. We had to throw out her bedding as it was soaked in urine, she couldn't get out because they shut them in. Luxury Suite is a concrete cell, no sunlight no fresh air and not able to get out to toilet or socialize until someone opens the door , 1 hour per 24...... The bed was too high so she had to sleep on the concrete floor, the outdoor space was plastic grass with a bowl of old dog food covered in fungus on it. My life girl is 14yrs old....no respect or dignity from this place. Do your research, it will take weeks to get her back to normal. Should be closed down"
"My doggo Calvin stayed at Hanrob Duffy's from 2 - 9 Apr. I checked him in as a happy, healthy dog. When I picked him, he smelled like he came from a gutter. Once we got home and I examined him, I could see that he had got a skin infection and rashes that looked like flea bites. He had also lost hair from his underbelly. My dog had no skin issues for the last 2 years, and I was quite proud of this. Now, he is wearing an E collar and 4 days later the rashes are still healing. Hanrob did not respond to my email (see screenshot) or communicate in any other manner. Calvin has previously stated at Hanrob Heathcote multiple times. I found Heathcote much better in their dealings and courteous. Pretty disappointed after paying the extra holiday charge too. Piss poor experience, can say we won't be back to Duffy's. Edit (4th May): the poor dog also had this skin infection on his face that I couldn't spot before it got really bad. I can't post a pic here because it breaks my heart. My beautiful Golden has had hair shaven off on his face. What I found as a couple of bad spots on the sides of face has since spread all around his face. Do your dog a favour - don't use their service!"
"Took my pet toy poodle there for the life time training package / 18-day live-in dog-training course. He was suppose to return home on December 7th, 2017. I got an email from Hanrob saying the trainer is unavailable to do the 60 minute departure lesson on the 7th and my other option is to pick up my dog and do the departure lesson on the 8th. Later on, I found out I was charged $69 on my credit card. I was not notified of, nor agreed to this charge, and it is very unreasonable because it’s not my fault that the trainer isn’t available. Then, when I pick up my dog, his hair was all messed up. The hairs all stick together. In the package, they say there’s complimentary aromatherapy bath, but it doesn’t seem like they combed his hair. So today, December 9th, 2017. I took him to the groomer. The groomer said his hair is all tied up and there’s nothing she can do, the only option is to shave it all. I’m very disappointed at Hanrob Pets Hotel. I spent over $1200 to get my pet trained and experience their “unique” treatment, the result makes me sad. It’s totally opposite to what they’ve advertised. Please do not be fooled by their clever marketing scheme. By the way, they say all pets need to be vaccinated when boarding with them; but they never asked to see my pets vaccination documents (I sent vaccination papers to them after my pet’s second day there). From such actions, I can say Hanrob is a very irresponsible business."
