"Went to take my family for a last minute haircut at the Patterson lakes salon, got told we could be fit in and were next to have our hair done when the hair dressers mother turned up. The hair dresser informed her mother that she had to tend to us but after further chatter, proceeded to take her mother to the back of the salon to wash her hair. I can’t stand the locals/family first gaff so we left the premises - loss of $75 to the business. When they read this I’m sure the hair dresser will spin it another way but if I was the owner I wouldn’t tolerate this behaviour, especially if it was hurting my back pocket."
"Went in with a picture of the hairstyle I wanted walk out with something I didn't ask for and feeling like I don't want to been seen. Never have I felt this horrible about a hair cut before. Will not be going back and will not be recommending them to anyone."
"After waiting for 1 hour in line I asked the young hairdresser how long she thought the wait would be, she said she didn't know, and I said I thought she would have had some idea, and then, only when I asked, I was told the business was cash only as EFTPOS not working. After discussing with others waiting, I and another customer popped to the ATM. After 1 more hour another person joined the queue and I let her know that it was cash only, even though there were no signs, nor did the hairdressers approach anyone in the queue to advise. After a further 15 minutes the older of the 2 hairdressers came and advised I was being rude and they wouldn't be doing my hair. She stated that they didn't want me telling customers about cash payments as they would speak for themselves. OMG. Silently, I walked away confused as I was not rude to anyone at any time and could only feel discriminated against because of my dark skin. Neither of the other two (white) ladies I was speaking to were asked to leave for discussing the cash payment issue, not was anyone else in the queue asked to leave. I would not recommend this business unless you do not have a dark skin tone, and under no circumstances let anyone know that the business may only take cash due to the EFTPOS not working."
"I had an awful experience here. I took my son (3 years old) in for a hair cut and the experience was all round bad. Firstly the lady who 'welcomed' us was rude and said 'sit down, i don't know how long it will be'. This should have been my first warning sign. Then the lady who did my son's hair shaved his head without a guard on the clippers, she kept telling him rudely and in a mean voice to sit still or she will hurt him. He was wriggling a little and giggling, but certainly not being difficult. The salon was dirty also. And to top it off, the hair cut was awful on every level! Patchy in the shaved parts, long bits of hair left, gouges through the top section of his hair, fringe all different levels. It was just awful. I took him to 'Just cuts' on the Monday (Friday was the original hair cut) and they did an incredible job. So kind and patient, and genuinely wanted to help and fix his hair. They took the time to ensure it was as good as could be. They treated myself and most importantly my son with respect and care. Please do yourself a favour and avoid Smart cuts and colour at all costs and walk down to 'Just cuts'!"
"I walked into the store I. Sunday at approx 1pm. I sat down in the long bench, looked to my left and saw two signs saying that EFTpos was unavailable. I stood up, spoke to the horrible blond with the British accent and said, “I’ll be two minutes, I’m going to draw cash out.” She said no worries and nodded. When I arrived back, there was another customer in the store. I was told this customer was first as my spot couldn’t be “held”. I said that I had seen the signs and had explained to the Brit that I was going to get cash. She then said to me “I don’t need this on a Sunday and I should ask the customer if I can go ahead of her. I said I wouldn’t because it wasn’t the customers fault, and that if I had known BEFORE coming into the store that EFT wasn’t available, I’d have organised myself. I took a picture of the two signs and the Brit turned around to me and said “I suppose you want my name”. I jut ignored her because seriously, you’re in a customer facing role and the facetiousness of the comment ticked me off more than ever. Another staff member agreed that I should have been served next, but didn’t serve me. So now I’m waiting for them to do my hair so I can make it as awkward as possible for them."
