"Had a wonderful lunch here, food was delicious and generous. Staff were lovely and very attentive. Will definitely be coming back."
"Dinner for 4 was amazing. Fine dinning without the airs n graces. Ordered a variety of dishes including seafood and all was on point. Meals were large and delicious. Owner/maître made the night! I wish I had taken photos but we devoured it before we thought about it"
"Dreadful doesn’t even begin to express our experience at the Lakeside. We were there recently for a friend’s wedding. Despite it being blustery winds and cold outside the staff kept the door of the venue open and hadn’t put the heating on such that us guests were freezing. When requested if they can put the heating on, the staff were rude. Food was passable but not enough for people. Staff came around with canapés only once, no seconds were offered. Staff were also rude about soft drinks and water requested. Comments were made by a staff member about the amount of drinks being consumed by thirsty people off the dance floor. Furthermore, service was inattentive and requests needed to be made several times before being fulfilled. I’ve seen some other reviewers rave about the level of “attentive” and “friendly” service by the team. Maybe they were having an off day when we arrived, but it would have been a terrible off-day for that level of service. Would give negative stars if I could."
"We had a Valentine’s dinner (a night early!) and our expectations were vastly exceeded. Firstly, there’s enough bruschetta in a single serving to feed a small army. Secondly, since my lady has allergies to gluten, garlic, and onion (or the whole allium family really), this can make dining either boring or potentially explosive. However, the staff were beyond fantastic, customizing the duck so it was both delicious and non-fatal. I had a steak in a peppercorn sauce so good the cow would have been pleased it had given its life for such a noble cause. These guys know how to treat their meat, which on Valentine’s celebrations, is of critical importance. The staff were attentive and helpful at all times and the meal was very reasonably priced for the quality and service. Just take note, if you get a taxi, that the gates lock in the evening, as this caused a bit of a headache trying to get back home! Not the venue’s fault, but something to be careful of."
