Reviews of Travelodge Hotel Sydney
"My friends and I stayed there for a long weekend. The location is handy and the room rate is great. Our room has three beds and each bed has a pretty good size. The room is reasonably clean with basic hotel facilities. I quite like the gym there. The staff are quite friendly."
"Stayed for four nights - room was clean but obviously very budget with an ordinary bathroom and not overly comfortable bedding. Service was pretty bad - staff always seemed completely disinterested and sometimes even patronizing when asked questions. Location is good as the hotel is only a short walk from Museum station and has a few convenience stores etc around."
"Highly recommend. Good price. Walking distance to city. The room and bed is big for couple. The bed is so comfortable you can sleep well after long day walk. Room service will clean your room everyday."
"Location of hotel is great, easy to walk or train/tram around Sydney. However staff seem to be run off their feet or poorly trained resulting in ridiculous wait times at the reception desk and crowds of people just standing around waiting. The rooms are average but need a good clean (stains on carpet, curtains, chairs etc), however the bathrooms are appallingly dirty and run down. The shower in my room had a 1cm gap between the door and shower frame resulting in the door just swinging into you while showering like a saloon door and water going everywhere. There was hair still stuck to the walls in the shower and the 2 towels provided had stains on them. No hand towel provided, just one face towel. What really gave this hotel 1 star was returning to the hotel at 11pm after a lovely night out on my first night to find the building surrounded by 10+ police cars and police blocking the street and hotel foyer. When we approached we were told by the police officer that nobody was allowed in or out of the building due to a police operation underway and to move far away from the building for our own safety. Tried calling the hotel multiple times and waiting outside in the rain for nearly an hour with other guests but received no update from the hotel or police on when we could go inside and retrieve our belongings or how long we'd be waiting. Ended up paying more money to stay at a (much nicer) hotel down the street who were shocked to hear what had happened. Returning the next morning we packed out things and cancelled out stay at the Travelodge, complaining to the reception who apologies and agreed to refund us our stay given we hadn't actually stayed there. I'm still waiting to see my refund however. I completely understand that a police operation/raid/arrest is out of their control, however passing on a simple message to the crowd of guests outside past midnight in the rain would have been easy enough to do. Unless you're desperate, steer clear of this hotel."
"Friendly staff, clean and comfortable facilities. Will be staying again."
