"The best kept secret of central west NSW. I spent the weekend here with my parents, (first time there for me and second time for my parents). Adam was a an incredible host with great knowledge of the area and building, he made us feel very much at home in this beautifuly restored hotel, I can’t wait to return again."
"We had a wonderful time. The food was amazing. The building has been beautifully restored. It was a quiet, relaxing place to unwind. Alison and Adam provided great hospitality. The only issue was that our internal and external bedroom doors didn't lock."
"Thanks to Alison and Adam for a fantastic stay and truely memorable experience. If you want accommodation in a piece of Australian history and like to step back into another era, then we would highly recommend the Glen Davis Boutique Hotel. If you want just another modern bland hotel with the normal everyday facilities that you can find anywhere, then this place is probably not for you. Warm, friendly and enthusiastic hosts, Alison and Adam have spend many years on a labour of love restoring this grand old Dame from the end of the Art Deco Period, taking it from a derelict wreck, to a restored period piece. No TV, no air-con (that we noticed), no electronic distractions, no mobile coverage or internet, mean that you can escape the modern rat race and return to a simpler time. All the while surrounded by some of the most stunning scenery you will find in this great country of ours. Period piece en-suite in our room, whilst not modern was clean and functional, whilst many rooms used shared bathroom facilities as they would have done in the original days of the hotel. Beautiful home cooked meals are included (the local "village" has no other facilities) and you will eat well. BYO grog as the hotel is not licensed. Hope to return again one day."
"The Glen Davis Boutique Hotel is a journey back to 1939. The decor is awe inspiring, especially knowing that our hosts, Alison and Adam, restored this once rundown building to its former glory and better. Alison is also the chef and her meals are beautifully presented and delicious. There is no shortage of food at any time of the day. If you want 5 star accommodation and city experiences then this is not for you. If you want to experience peace & quiet away from the daily grind, wonderful bird life and truly spectacular scenery in a step back to 1939 then this is the place to stay. It has been on my list to stay for a long time. I've visited the valley often, done a really interesting tour of the historic oil shale refinery which operated in the 40s and employed hundreds of people, but hadn't stayed at the hotel until recently. I would go back again for a taste of this historic place, the wonderful friendly and welcoming hosts and the relaxing atmosphere and scenery. Thank you Adam and Alison for looking after us so well."
"We had a wonderful overnight stay to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Alison and Adam showed exceptional hospitality and couldn't have been lovelier. It is a beautiful part of the world and we were delighted with our comfortable room, the delicious meals and the pool with the best view ever! Relaxing and delightful. Thanks Alison and Adam"
