"Horrible store with horrible staff and terrible customer service. They'll literally snatch things from your hands google them in front of you and then refuse to sell the items to you because they assume they must be valuable. I hope they go out of business because the employees don't deserve the privilege of working, let alone "rescuing" animals. Someone needs to save themselves the trouble of shopping there and they need to save their delusional price gouging, as nobody would pay more than like $5 for a standard dvd movie in an op shop. Get over yourselves."
"This place doesn’t even deserve a one star! Me and my daughter were followed around from the moment we walked in, checking how many items we were walking around with while shopping! My daughter accidentally dropped something and they pounced on her and told her she needs to be taught etiquette! She was very apologetic but upset about it. We tried clothes on and they waited out the front of stalls as soon as we came out to count the items ( my daughter had put some shorts back before going in, which she had showed them before going in in the first place) they then asked where the shorts were and went and looked for them and because I hadn’t put them back in the right spot made us go and find them to prove we didn’t steal them! I wanted to buy a nice vest ( very overpriced mind you) but I went and returned right to her hands and said I’d never support this store as they have been harassing us and we are leaving. They then called out very loudly to check our bags and advised we were not to leave! My girl is 12, and yes looks older but we had come from out of town and just wanted a fun day out, supporting small business and pet store op shops! We opened all our bags, we knew we had nothing to hide but they insisted ‘ can’t blame us you looked guilty!!’ We had lots of witnesses to this and had people checking on us when we left. Absolute disgraceful and the two old Italian woman running it are rude, speak their language in front of you about you and harass their customers! They need new owners!!!!"
"Clerk is sooooo nosey, following us around, literally calling over the curtain into the change room to come in and check how many items I took to try on. Everything is so exxy while somehow also so dirty. The clerk, after she finally decided I wasn’t trying to rob her, started yapping on bout savers and how they are the worst. Like my girly you are literally running a charity scam. Kinda a bummer that they just suckkkk bc some of the clothes are low key fire but like you leave the shopping experience just wanting to flip a car with rage or something."
"Used to go here a few years ago when it was out the back rather than right on Sydney road. Used to be well organised and well priced then - I don’t know what’s happened since it has reopened on Sydney road but the prices are exorbitant and there’s no real effort into sorting products like you see in a vintage shop where more expensive prices usually make sense. E.g you will see stuff from Kmart that is 3x the brand new price in this op shop! Or broken lamps and old sauce jars they are trying to sell for ridiculous prices. Also isn’t donating any profits to an animal charity yet continues to be called a “pet rescue op shop” with animal paws in their branding. I wouldn’t have a problem with this (as Savers isn’t a charity) as I believe buying second hand is important regardless of where the money goes - but at the end of the day this is an expensive and poor quality op shop. At least savers is up front and has some quality control for their products as well as waaaaay cheaper! I hope they take all the feedback on board to hopefully make a better op shop for Brunswick."
"there are many opshop around here, but only this shop donate profit to animals... donation for underprivileged children is important and many opshop do that. how about animals? owner have 3dogs inside and they are very lovely.(^ ^)"
