"Great location and good breakfast. Try all the Melbourne version coffees. Service at the breakfast was excellent, frontdesk a lot of room of improvement, that is an understatement! Bellboy was there to help with the suitcases, very friendly and helpful. Rooms are very old, feels more like a 3 star hotel. Wifi is good, little noice even it's on the main busy road."

"Stayed at the Marriot on the 10/6/23. It was our wedding night & the hotel had been notified of it by friends. It was $389AUD for the night that was meant to include a bottle of champagne & chocolates. As I am currently in my second trimester the champagne had to be substituted for non alcoholic beverage, which staff were notified of at time of booking. Arrived at hotel approx. 12:45pm & not one staff member there to help me & my husband with a luggage trolley. I was still in my wedding dress trying to unload the vehicle & had to carry all our luggage in ourselves. Finally checked in & arrived in our room to nothing, no drinks, chocolate or even a congratulations card from the hotel. This was rather disappointing & put us off the hotel right away. At this stage we were in a hurry to change & get to the restaurant we were meeting our wedding guest at so had to rush out. We arrived back & wanted to go & relax in spa. The pool/spa amenities are a bit run down & need a revamp. Then came time for sleep, we were so excited to finally be relaxing & going to bed after such a long & joyful day, that was until we woke up after midnight both extremely sore, the bed had destroyed our backs & neither of us could walk properly & made it very difficult to continue sleeping for the remainder of the night. As mentioned I am in my second trimester of pregnancy & to be in this much pain due to the bed made the entire stay seem to be a complete waste of money. The staff were lovely don't get me wrong but anything else is really not worth the stay & is rather disappointing considering the Marriott has such a high profile name. I honestly would not recommend anyone to stay here if you want a rather enjoyable stay, I would recommend the Sheraton Melbourne Hotel on 27 Little Collins St, Melbourne as it is only around the corner & there amenities & beds were so lovely. EDIT Went to my physio on 13/6/23 due to the severe back pain from the bed & she was utterly shock at how bad my back was from just seeing her 4 days prior. I am still suffering from the back pain, which sucks while pregnant but so grateful my physio is amazing & has done an amazing job."

"Was greeted at check-in by very friendly staff who saw I needed a glass of champagne at 5pm - thank you. The room was roomy and clean on the 10th floor. Location is also good, close to many attractions."

"Hotel is a little understaffed.. Don't expect any help with bags. Not happening here, Upton arrival my Marriott visit disappeared from my app and the local staff had no idea how to rectify other than instructing me to "open a ticket" (thanks Marriott I'm here to serve). Didn't check out property to much so could not comment on gym/pool etc.. Seemed nice enough, carpets in elevator could use changing.. Definitely not the quality one would expect for 5 stars.. IMHO"
