Harry's Café de Wheels - Penrith
About the Business
Welcome to Harry's Café de Wheels - Penrith! Located on Mulgoa Road in Penrith, Australia, our institution is a bakery, cafe, establishment, food, meal takeaway, point of interest, restaurant, and store all in one.
For over 80 years, Harry's Café de Wheels has been proudly serving customers, including some famous faces like Frank Sinatra, Sir Elton John, and even Prince Harry himself. Our iconic 'Tiger' pie has been enjoyed by countless individuals, becoming a symbol of our establishment's rich history.
It all started with Harry "Tiger" Edwards, who was frustrated with the lack of good late-night snacks. In response, he opened a caravan café near the front gates of the Woolloomooloo naval dockyard in Sydney. Despite facing challenges from the local city council, who required him to move the caravan a minimum of 12 inches a day, Harry named his café 'Harry's Café de Wheels' - a bold gesture that would leave a lasting impact.
Harry's courage and boxing skills earned him the nickname "Tiger," which he passed down to his iconic pie. To this day, you can still enjoy the original Tiger pie at our Woolloomooloo location, along with our growing number of outlets across the globe. Our fleet of caravan cafés continues to serve delicious food, moving a little more than 12 inches a day.
Every bite at Harry's Café de Wheels is filled with an overwhelming sense of nostalgia. We aim to leave a lasting impression on the mouths of different generations, reminding them of Harry's humble beginnings and our institution's rich past.
So, whether you're craving a delicious pie, a cup of coffee, or a tasty meal to take away, Harry's Café de Wheels - Penrith is the place to be. Come and experience the taste of history at our iconic establishment on Mulgoa Road.

"This used to be a decent place. We would drive 20min to get food here. Portions have shrunk, quality has gone down. After our last snack (you can't call it a meal any more) we have determined that even if you are right there and really want something they have you are better off driving 20+min anywhere else to eat. Don't waste your time coming here."
"Went there on a cold night and the pie was so amazing. Definitely go for the tiger pie if you want a filling feed!"
"Lovely place very neat and well presented. The service was friendly and great. The food fresh. I orded a shredded cheese dog with chips and gravy, chips were hot and crunchy and it was delicious. First time I have been and would highly recommend this cafe to anyone who is looking for a quick bite to eat. Their meat pie menu is to die for."
"The spicy corn dog was not very nice. Not possible to eat with hands. The chips was fresh and great. The employees were polite but no smile or emotion or care was given. No condiments as well so bring tissues."
"I love Harry's Cafe de Wheels... Love that it's local to me, and that I can do get a great tasting hot dog or pie with the works. I love their hot chips and gravy. Great on a cold winter day, or when you're feeling naughty. I love the Hot dogs while my son loves the pies. I recommend the chill cheese Hot Dog and hot chips with gravy combo.. Yum The service is always friendly and fast. Tell all your friends to give this place a go."
