"Loved the room, loved the location. It was clean and spacious and so close to the light rail and supermarkets and cafes'. Staff were a little bit short on the phone prior to arrival and discussing a friend who would be arriving before me (who had booked the accommodation), but it all worked out in the end."
"Good points: the room was lovely, clean and fresh. The bad points: The bed was hard, the worse part was the inadequate blinds that let in light, the royal hotel had floodlights on all night and my room was bright all night, I had a horrible sleep."
"This is NOT a 4-star hotel as is advertised on google and on Booking. (it is clearly stated both on Booking and HERE ON GOOGLE MAPS that this place is a 4-STAR HOTEL) Rooms: First of, although we did book a 12 m2 room (the smallest one), there was VERY LITTLE space (misleading picture on booking) nowhere to put our luggage at all, wardrobe is miniature. Some towels (and some sheets) were dirty, so it’s a 3 out of 5 for me on the overall cleanliness. It was impossible to use a blanket as it had no duvet cover and was just covered with sheets on the sides. Our window was broken (we could not fully close it). Shower cap was floppy, and the toilet seat was shifted (it was clearly visible, so I don’t understand why wasn’t it fixed BEFORE we got the room). The shower door could not be fully closed so we would always end up with water on the floor. Although all the issues (except for the last one) were solved, it was ineffective as the front desk is only opened till 8 pm. There is a limit on wi-fi data (for a 4-star hotel, really?). Your rooms are only cleaned if you stay 7 days and longer. On the plus side, the hotel staff was friendly, there is a shared kitchen and the bed mattress is comfortable. Overall, the price and the 4-star sign do not match the quality and the service you get."
"Avoid - poor management, health and safety issues across multiple rooms & properties. Quite possibly the worst stay I've had in Australia and shocking lack of response from management. Originally booked at High-Cross property around the corner and given a room with overpowering ammonia smell from the air conditioning unit: at worst this is coolant leaking at best this is mycotoxins from mold build up and lack of service/cleaning. Front desk closed immediately after my arrival leaving me to call them back and try to get another room. Was shown two rooms at High Cross with the same overpowering ammonia smell when AC switched on. Moved to Perouse property and found one room without the overpowering ammonia smell, but still with visible mold growth on AC (see photos). Was told room would be quiet but in fact they were doing construction directly below including concrete drilling the whole next day. Toilet roll in room water stained/soaked [as pictured], and faulty electronic key system forcing me to call again to their "after-hour" emergency line to unlock the door. [Response to owner comment: after hours operator confirmed keypad registering double digit entries on single key press as a common issue - i.e. keypad is faulty). To top it all off housekeeping banging on doors more than an hour before check out to rush guests out. Manager promised to get back to me by end of day but did not, and refused to meet with me on check out (even by phone!) - sending only dismissive response that no issues were present after the fact. I was offered "credit on next visit" - I will NOT be staying again and strongly recommend you avoid this entire company. Multiple rooms on multiple Sydney Lodges properties affected. This company clearly has no concern for health/hygiene/safety of guests and a pattern of shoddy maintenance (if any at all!). Management given three chances to respond during the stay, address concerns and take responsibility (morning after first night, late afternoon same day, and on checkout after second night) - management declined to show up."
"Very nice hotel offering nice accommodation. The rooms and public areas look like they have recently been refurbished. Our room 302 was very comfortable being quite a good size, nice shower with large bed, air conditioning and a small fridge in room. The reason I have given service three star is because there is not much to comment on. No room cleaning, no food and beverage service so no comment. The check in staff were friendly and keen to help when needed. If you want to prepare your own food there is a nice kitchen area and self service laundry which are coin operated. Personally very happy the hotel facilities."
