"I stayed in Ibis Budget Sydney east for 3 nights (6th august - 8th august). This hotel is the worst hotel to stay with family. They had outsourced their house keeping facilities to some company. In the name of house keeping, they just used to change the bed towel, no cleaning of bathroom/ toilet, no cleaning of room/ floor, no removal of trash from the room. When we came back from our tour, the entire room was stinking. We reported it to the reception and surprisingly the response from the reception was that they can not do anything in this matter as they have outsourced the house keeping job. This was not expected from a hotel like Ibis. I request people who are planning to stay in this hotel with family to rethink and not stay in this hotel as their is no hygiene maintained and they will not take any responsibility of it."
"The rooms were good. The bathroom was a bit small and the shower got the floor wetter than we liked. Breakfast was really good and baristas on hand to prepare coffee was a plus. Great central location to lots of things."
"Got moved to a new room with 20 minutes of check-in because several appliances were broken. This was the best service i had for my 2 week stay. The second room has fewer broken appliances but cockroaches in the shower. Stains on walls and sheets. Bathroom hadnt had a solid clean in a while. You get a kettle and small fridge, that's it. You can hear people in other rooms and halls. Talked to reception a couple of times about random things like copy of bill, etc, they always conveniently needed to take a call. I was happy to say it's not a perfect place but you will live, until a cleaner stole some of my food from my room. I assume it was a cleaner because the alternative is much worse. I was staying alone. Reception just brushed it off and told me they have used the same staff for 12 years, and they have never. Cool, I don't care it's not common, I care they don't do it again to someone else. Consider other options before booking"
"Nice location with a great view of the Sydney Harbour. The room was clean and comfortable, except for the noisy heater (we chose to turn it off in a cold night because the noise didn’t let us sleep). What’s also regrettable is that there were no basic amenities available, even for purchase. I understand if it’s a budget hotel so they don’t provide it for free. But we checked in near midnight when other stores had closed, and when I asked if the receptionist had any toothbrush and tooth paste in stock for me to buy, they said that they didn’t have any. Another thing to note, there were 2 entrances. We came in through the lower entrance with heavy luggages and had to climb lots of stairs, and the staff did not even inform us that there was another entrance without steps, let alone helped us to carry the heavy luggages upstairs (they knew we were coming, the receptionist answered the buzzer and unlocked the lower entrance door for us)."
"I think that this is a very worth it hotel. It has okay spacing for the price, the toilets are nice and staff is friendly. Comparing this to a 5 star hotel is not right, this is worth the price as it's only around 200 for 4 people night which includes a buffet style breakfast for only 19 dollars a day for 4 people. The beds are reasonable comfy with the room being modern. Overall it's a respectable hotel and definitely worth the price. It also has good restaurants nearby with a very accessible train station. Also don't forget about the massive coke sign near it. :)"
