Our story begins with Melbourne-based chef Johnny Di Francesco, the Director of the Gradi Group. Johnny's passion for Italian cuisine started at a young age when he worked in a Pizzeria after school. This love followed him into adulthood, leading him to leave his Engineering degree behind for an extended trip to Italy to explore his passion. In 2008, 400 Gradi was born, and since then, it has expanded across Melbourne and even reached other parts of the world.
When it comes to authenticity, 400 Gradi is unmatched. We adhere to the guidelines of the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana (AVPN), the world authority on traditional Neapolitan pizza. Johnny Di Francesco was the first Australian to be inducted into the AVPN and is the Principal of Australasia for the Association. This ensures that our pizzas are as authentic as they come.

"We dine at 400 Gradi frequently. The food is excellent. Particularly the pappardelle al funghi and lasagne. You can't go wrong with the pizza either. We love the margarita, valcano, and capricciosa. The buratta starter is nove, although you have to order a flat bread separately. We don't usually have desert as we usually over order starters and mains. If you the Italian pavlova is fantastic we also tried the flower less cake."

"Would 100% go back again! We ordered a double mozzarella margarita pizza and a spicy salami pizza. These were some of the best pizzas I’ve had. The flavours are so perfectly balanced and the pizza base thin and chewy. It’s a little pricier than your local pizza takeaway joints, but considering the food quality, service and environment, it was totally worth it."
"Food is good but not amazing for the price you’re paying. Portion size is on the small side. Tartufo Pizza we ordered is $36 with a few sausages on top and some small pieces of porcini mushrooms. Seafood Linguine had fresh ingredients, well cooked but is it worth $42? A bit over priced in my opinion. End up paying $79 with card fee , no drinks , no starter , no side dish. Just 1x pizza and 1x pasta. Is the food delicious enough for me to wanna go back ? No ~"
