"Bad bad bad experience. Firstly, the receptionist is not very professional and well knowledges with the hotel. Secondly, the room is very very dusty, the table and carpet is very dirty, you can see a layer of dust on the table even right after room service. we spend 7 nights here and we regretted a lot, we could have stayed in a better hotel with around the same price. This is totally over-priced and not worth it at all. Thirdly and the most disgusting experience, they have red stain in their towel, I wouldn’t want to know where the red stain is from. But it’s totally disgusting with Thai kind of service. We went down to show the receptionist with the photo of the red stain, why they do is just apologising. That’s it! As if nothing big deal is wrong with that! Please book with lower expectation and considering the higher price, we wouldn’t come back again, ever!"
"Staycation in the Star Grand Residences was superb, we had a 1 bedroom + office suite with a large kitchen, 2 bathrooms and a balcony with district views. This particular room was very luxurious while still being reasonably priced for Sydney, which is generally an overpriced city all round. The fixtures and fittings were very high end, with marble throughout and automated blinds, along with large TVs and high quality furniture and bedding. Room service food was good based on what we had, being a perfectly cooked medium rare steak, however, the room service staff were a little on the cold side, not friendly but not rude. The draw card is obviously having the casino downstairs which can be fun, and the famous Sydney fish markets are about 10mins walk around the corner, with some very busy roads to cross, but definitely worth the effort. I will book this room again for sure."
"Room was average. The bed was the most uncomfortable I have ever had at a hotel. The mattress cover was the wrong size so you were constantly waking thinking you were falling out. The lights in the room did not work in the mornings. Maintenance fixed it but the same problem occurred the next day. For the money I expected at least something functional. Check in staff were efficient and friendly. Cleaning staff arrived at 3 in the afternoon when the wife was resting so nothing was refreshed while we stayed. It was not pleasant."
"I recently had the pleasure of staying at the star grand and I must say it was a truly memorable experience.Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted by the friendly receptionist, Dita, who made the check-in process seamless and efficient. Her warm smile and professional demeanor immediately put me at ease after a long journey. Throughout my stay, found the hotel's staff to be attentive, courteous, and always ready to assist."
"We were absolutely thrilled to be upgraded from a single room to a 3 bedroom apartment for our family of 4. Such a kind gesture that has made our stay so special! The hotel is beautiful, just what you'd expect of a 5 star hotel. We love that there are so many restaurants as well as more casual places to eat in the hotel itself, it really makes it easy with kids. The heated pool on Level 5 is just incredible. It was raining a little today but that didn't matter at all for swimming because it's so warm and just a lovely experience. The location is fabulous, within walking distance of attractions such as the Aquarium and Paddy's Markets. There's also a Coles and a Liquorland within a few minutes walk for any snacks etc you might need."
