The Miller Hotel

"The key to my room didn’t work. Every time I returned I had to be let in by staff. Once the receptionist was too busy & despite another staff member being there I had to wait minutes. On the day I checked out I had a flight to catch & was in a hurry the receptionist wouldn’t believe me, then told me she couldn’t leave the desk despite a staff member being there. Finally she did & said the battery in the door probably doesn’t work. I told her that’s not my problem it’s the hotels and she got upset. She didn’t apologise and was rude,This was beyond frustrating. It really rested my patience, The hotel is undergoing much needed renovations, The shower wasn’t clean & hotel was generally not cleaned well. The breakfast though ample was cold which was disappointing. The hotel lacked security as there was no key pass in the elevator. Management were polite."

"There has been a lot of construction around the hotel, but its still quiet at evening and night. Hotel itself is under upgrade, so rooms are still a bit dated but good value for money at this location. Quick walk to train station, buses, cafes and parks. Once metro opens it will be so easy to get to CBD with station entry just outside"

"The rooms are dated, poorly maintained, and unclean. For example, the bathroom door had water damage, and the bath was stained even the hallways were not vacumed (see photos). Our air-conditioner didn't work, and we had to chock the window open (it wouldn't stay open) to maintain the temperature. Service at reception was terrible. When we raised the issue of our air conditioner not working, we were told to inspect another room ourselves (they couldn't be bothered to come with us) to see if that was better. It wasn't; the air-conditioner in that room also didn't work. I would not stay in this hotel ever again."

"Carpets are really dirty and old, heater doesn't work, the place is creepy, the establishment needs renovation. It's not as good as I expected it to be specially with the price. The staff are nice though. i can imagine their pain if the issues are not in their own hands anymore but with the hotel facilities. Look for options I would recommend."

"OK, so it's obviously an older style hotel in need of renovations. But when you can get a room at a really good rate, including a full buffet breakfast, then you shouldn't be too picky! As they weren't too busy I also got a room upgrade and even got one of those illusive 'harbour views'!! The reception, bar and restaurant areas are all nicely presented and have clearly been renovated already. FYI... It's also an easy stroll to the fun Rag & Famish pub."
