Samboy Pizzas 301 West Street, Umina Beach, New South Wales 2257

"I tried calling after 4pm as this is the time listed on their Google listing as their opening time, 5pm was also mentioned as their opening time. I made 8 phone calls, the phone message stated they were closed. First problem, I had to drive to their shop to receive any service. I ordered the vegetarian traditional pizza, it was cooked quickly, I took the pizza home. I measured the pizza it is 10 inches in diameter, not 12 or 14, and had no flavour - garlic and oregano can go a long way! This is an addition to original review. In summation you can see in retrospect I really thought the staff were trying. I suspect the reason why the cook did not turn off the night phone when service started was because she was told not to. I believe the pizza size and toppings were absolutely governed by the owner. I don't believe the owner has much of an idea of his own business, and the sinking ship he prevails. I ask the owner to have more trust in his staff, let them lead while you can't or won't, they hear what the customer wants they respond, they are bound by your business hypocrisy - we have to make money - the reality is you won't make money when you are disrespecting you customers your staff and yourself."

"Very average pizza. Ordered the largest supreme, minimal toppings and the pizza took up maybe two thirds of the box. Service was friendly and it was ready on time, making it a just barely 3 stars. Doubt I will go back unless this substantially changes."

"Ordered Samboys tonight for dinner. There is no doubt that the store is a well oiled and professional machine. Ordering and pickup was a breeze, staff were very friendly as well. The pizzas are basically perfect. Base is just the right thickness with what I'm sure is a 50/50 baker's flour & semolina dough blend. Sauce, toppings and cheese are sublime and are in good ratios. But the damn serving sizes are too small for the price. Picture is a large pizza with their standard issue garlic bread for scale. Now they've put me in a spot where I'm going to try somewhere else because the value proposition just isn't there."
