"The hotel itself is fine. Rooms are comfortable and clean and good enough for a night or two. What let's this whole experience down was the location of the hotel, especially if you arrive by car - it is an absolute nightmare being located inside Bankstown sports club which is all bars, restaurants and slot machines so the car park is shared with a million different people visiting this. I arrived on a Saturday evening from the airport and entered the car park and ended up driving round the ridiculously orientated signage for nearly an hour trying to find a space. After an hour I found a space then another nightmare scenario - trying to find where the hotel was. There is absolutely ZERO signage for the Mercure hotel anywhere in that car park. I ended up using the lifts which brought me to the entrance of the sports club, even asking a security guard didn't help things - he said it was best to walk outside then follow the building all the way around to the back and the entrance to the hotel is there. With two large suitcases and various steps, this was a mission. Eventually finding the entrance, I then had another challenge to find the rooms which involves accessing the sports club and being pointing in various directions to use a specific set of lifts. If you know the area and the sports club, then staying here is fine and you'll know your way around. If not - then there are lots of other hotels in the area that I would stay in next time."
"First of all I stay here weekly and my company stays here daily yet it seems Accor/ Mercure can’t seem to get it right that when we are sleeping we do not want to be disturbed yet nearly every time I stay I have housekeeping disturbing my rest. The response I get from management is that all staff know you’re sleeping and shouldn’t be entering. Well unfortunately shouldn’t enter doth butter no parsnips. After my issues I decided to head to the bar to grab a can of soft drink for my room to be told by a bar staff member I can’t but I can have free soft drink while I play the pokies . So now my money isn’t worth anything let alone the business I bring to the hotel. Regards someone who is fed up with your poor service."
"There were some renovations going on but staff were very accommodating and assisted me with directions on managing how to get around the Reno's obstacles. Most bars shut at 1.00am and were asked to go to outside area where smoking was overpowering. Need a non-smoking outdoor setting. Mecure room and service was very good. Breakfast also good. Overall a good place to stay for an overnight stay."
"Parking is mixed with patrons for the club , and dining patrons . There was enough parking but because it being mixed parking we had to park at the end of the under cover parking area , then validate the parking ticket inside the club , then walk through the club patrons area and eating area to find the stairs to go down to the reception of the Motel then take a lift to our room , we got lost as it not clearly marked as to which way to go to find the Motel reception we had to ask a eatery area it is very busy and needs more signs for Motel guests that dont get a park close and have to walk through the club and restaurant areas to find the Motel reception and the elevator that takes you to your room. The room was clean but very basic the TV cabinet top was heavily damaged and the shower was very outdated, for the price of the room and being the Mecure I expected more , I have stayed with Mercure all over Australia and this must be the most outdated rooms , yet the front foyer is amazing!"
"Do not waste your time or money on this hotel. Because they have the pokies attached to the hotel, we were asked to produce ID EVERYTIME we walked in. My friend had her ID but I only had photos of mine because my purse was stolen earlier that day. One manager accepted the photos of my ID but the next didnt. Because I didnt have ID, my friend and I werent allowed to use the restaurants or any of the other facilities. The rooms didn't have a mini bar and there was no room service, so we were hungry and thirsty the whole time. The staff were very rude and we weren't even allowed to look at the Koi in the indoor pond in the foyer because i didn't have ID. This hotel and its staff ruined what shouldve been a great weekend. Stay away"
