"Very poorly run. Dirty tables, overflowing bins and generally filthy. Very high usage of single use products such as disposable cups, takeaway containers, cutlery etc. Very poor sustainability for 2022 standards. Their saving grace was the staff who were lovely and efficient. I would advise using the tea rooms prior to ticketed entry instead which looked a lot better managed."

"The cafe was closed during my trip without notice. You may eat your lunch or foods before your walk. The front restaurant has hot meals with a decent ambiance, homey and lovely."
"Extremely grumpy staff, menu limited & expensive. Place was empty, no excuses for poor service and poor quality food. Pity as setting is gorgeous and rest of visit to Kylemore Abbey was fantastic. Avoid the Tea House & bring your own grub."
"The Tea House is in the paid area of the castle. I must point out that we entered the coffee 1.5 hour before closing. We bought packed sandwiches, a carrot cake, a bakewell and an apple pie. The bakewell was pretty dry, the apple pie was quite good, but doubt it was fresh. The Tea House doesn’t seem to offer anything freshly made, although the board says ‘homemade’. The coffee was made by a machine. I would expect slightly better products in such place (also comparing to other tea houses of other castles in Ireland). On the other hand it’s nice that there is this option to sit and relax since the castle complex is quite large so this resting place might come handy."
